Extended Summary

Brody runs into John near the beach and John wonders about his bucks night. Brody is hoping for a quiet one. Hunter and Mason approach John and tell him they’re going to have a weekend at a casino in the city. John is disappointed that they didn’t use one of his ideas. Marilyn comes up and tells them Willow has slapped Jasmine. Back at the Diner, Leah has given Jasmine some ice for her face. Jasmine says she stuck her nose in trying to help Willow. She agrees that Willow shouldn’t have slapped her but says it’s between them.

Mason tracks down Willow near the beach and asks her how she is. He is surprised that she hit Jasmine and thinks something must be wrong but Willow refuses to talk about it. At the hospital, Ziggy is looking on as a nurse takes a blood sample from Maggie. She insists she has a good feeling. Ben arrives and they send Ziggy out. She listens at the door until they send her away. Ben confirms he’s got the money for Ziggy’s hot rods: Alf put him onto some people who’ve ordered five custom boards and are paying up front.

At the Diner, Leah says goodbye to Jasmine. John asks her what the slap was about and Leah tells him what she knows. Marilyn turns up to make plans for Ziggy’s hen night, so John makes himself scarce. Marilyn suggests a shopping trip, life drawing and lunch, intending a big day, but Leah doesn’t think Maggie would be well enough for it. At Salt, Hunter and Mason approach Brody with their ideas. He is shocked that they want a whole weekend away but they insist they can get cover for the restaurant. Brody looks less than enamoured at their plans for a boozy breakfast, day at the casino and night drinking but agrees.

Willow and Jasmine run into each other near the Diner. Jasmine asks if Willow’s going to hit her again. Willow apologises but refuses to admit that she has a problem or even that she’s stealing. Jasmine eventually agrees that it’s up to Willow to fix it. As Willow leaves, Leah joins Jasmine, who says Willow doesn’t want her help. Meanwhile, Brody and Ziggy arrive back at the farm house. Brody isn’t keen on the weekend idea, since he doesn’t want to leave Ziggy for that long while Maggie’s ill. Ziggy’s fine with him going but says if he doesn’t want to he should tell Mason and Hunter straight.

Marilyn approaches Ben and Maggie at the Diner and talks to Maggie about the hen night while Ben goes to answer his phone. She is planning a pamper day. Maggie doesn’t think it sounds like Ziggy but agrees there’s no harm in it. Marilyn mentions Roo’s away visiting her mother who’s sick. Ben speaks to Mason, saying he can’t go away for a weekend while Maggie’s ill. Alf chimes in that he thinks the boys have bitten off more than they can chew. Ben thanks him for the job and Alf hopes his luck holds. Next day, Ben gives Ziggy the $3000 he earned for the cars and tells her she needs to choose them quickly. Maggie tells Ben about the pamper day; she thinks it’s more for her than Ziggy. She gets a phone call from Dr Callan asking her to come in.

Leah approaches Willow at the Diner. Willow says she apologised to Jasmine but quickly realises Jasmine told Leah everything. Leah wants to help but Willow insists it’s not a problem and deletes her gambling app. Leah tells her she also needs to worry about John, who will soon realise the equipment’s missing, and suggests she get in first. Willow goes to see John at the surf club and tells him she needs to apologise to him. John takes her into the office and she admits to selling the equipment, telling him she was in a tight spot. She gives him the money from the sale. John appreciates her honesty but says she should have come to him. Now he has to fire her: If the owners found out, they’d blame him.

Mason and Hunter tell Brody their plans to leave Friday night but Brody says he can’t go because he needs to be there for Ziggy. Mason thinks that Ziggy’s told Brody he can’t go and Brody is quick to agree that that’s the case. Hunter is disappointed their planning was for nothing but Mason tells him they just have to have the bucks night in Summer Bay. Meanwhile, Ben and Maggie meet with Callan who tells them the cancer has spread to Maggie’s chest. She wants them to start on an immediate course of chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy. Maggie slowly gets confirmation that there are no guarantees and there are no suitable donors in Australia.

Jasmine meets up with Willow on the wharf. Miserable, Willow says that Leah’s advice got her fired. Jasmine tells her to forget about the loan. Willow maintains she pays her debts but Jasmine points out she can’t even pay her bills. Willow ends up walking away. Later, she is at the bar in Salt as Ziggy comes in and tells Brody about the money from Ben and how they need to book the cars that day. Brody gives her money for the dress and others things. Ziggy puts it in her bag which she stores under the counter. Willow looks at it and checks the gambling app which she has obviously reinstalled on her phone.

Ben and Maggie wait for the lift. Ben wonders if they should get a second opinion but Maggie’s happy with the team they’ve got. Ben says they should just do what the doctors say then. He takes her hand as they enter the lift. Later, back at home, Ben tries to be positive and practical, suggesting postponing the wedding. Maggie doesn’t want that and says that the treatment’s not working, so she just wants to enjoy the wedding and whatever time she’s got left. Ben is shocked as she says she wants to stop treatment.
