Extended Summary

Jasmine follows Willow into the gym office and asks why she thinks she’d take money that doesn’t actually belong to Willow. She threatens to tell John. Willow insists she’ll pay the money back and convinces Jasmine to go for now since she needs to get ready for a class. Meanwhile, Leah, Marilyn and Roo are visiting Maggie to give her supplies to cope with the after-effects of chemo. Maggie explains Ben was offered some work and Ziggy and Coco have gone to pick the latter’s bridesmaid dress.

Mason is on the phone to Justin near the beach and insists he’s on top of organising the bucks night. He runs into Hunter and they establish neither of them has a date for the wedding. Mason asks Hunter to help him test some bars for the bucks night where they can also take the opportunity to chat up girls. They head to the Diner where Mason admits he has no ideas. Alf and John chime in. John recalls the air guitar marathon for his bucks party but Alf points out it put him in hospital. Alf suggests an all-night fishing trip. They come up with other ideas – Elvis impersonator, barefoot bowling, hypnotist – until the boys hastily excuse themselves.

Willow and Dean meet up for lunch at the Diner. Dean explains that he’s offered to do a shift for free at the Reefton Lakes garage in the hope of getting more work. Willow has her head buried in her phone and Dean takes it off her. Jasmine listens from the doorway as Dean notices that Willow’s lost another big bet but tells her she’s bound to have a win soon. Willow decides to skip lunch in order to get ready for a class. Later, Jasmine finds Willow on the beach running a class and tells her she knows she’s gambling. She insists she’s not judging but says she worked in a casino at uni and saw people so hooked they left their children in the car and forgot about them. Willow refuses to talk and tells her to go away.

Roo shows Leah and Marilyn out of the farm but stays behind herself, offering to fold the washing for Maggie. Maggie gets a text from Ziggy with a photo of Coco and is upset that she can’t share the girls’ special time. At Salt, Hunter is giving Mason ideas for the bucks night but he doesn’t seem any more impressed with them than the ideas he got from Alf and John. They then spot Dempsey at the bar. Hunter offers to help Mason chat her up. Mason reminds him it was Hunter and Olivia that messed things up for him before but, after he and Dempsey lock eyes, he agrees.

Roo tries to encourage Maggie who says she’s frustrated at being tired all the time and has a lengthy to-do list. Roo encourages her, saying that she showed strength in the video Leah made. At the Diner, Leah and Marilyn get simultaneous texts asking them to go round and see Maggie. They then get second texts telling them to bring watermelon juice.

Mason and Hunter make a not-entirely-convincingly-casual attempt to sidle up to Dempsey’s table where Mason reminds her who he is (she remembered) and offers her a drink. She invites them to sit down. Hunter says Mason’s family owns the bar so he gets free drinks but Mason stresses he bought the round himself. There is an awkward pause until Hunter mentions Mason is best man. Dempsey recalls bucks night stories from when she worked in Emergency, including hypothermia from being tied up naked and someone having their hand superglued to another part of the anatomy. At the farm, Roo is organising a celebrant, Marilyn is organising a photographer and Leah is sorting out digital invites. Maggie thanks them, saying she’s not used to being part of a community where she can ask for help.

Jasmine meets up with Dean on the beach and tells him she’s worried about Willow and thinks she’s gambling too much. Dean thinks it’s just Jasmine’s inexperience showing through but does get concerned when Jasmine tells him Willow nearly stole from the surf club and sold some gym equipment. He says he’ll sort it. He goes to see Willow at the gym and makes a joke about having to tie stuff down. Willow realises Jasmine talked to him. She insists it’s no big deal and she’ll pay everyone back once she has the big win that she’s due. Dean accepts the explanation and says he’ll talk to Alf about getting a delay on the rent but tells her not to sell things that aren’t hers again.

Dempsey tells Hunter and Mason a story about someone getting a full body wax. Hunter thinks they should prank Brody but Mason says the stories are only funny because they happened to other people; Brody needs to enjoy his bucks party. Hunter reminds him of when VJ’s arms were plastered and they begin to get an idea. At the Diner, Dean asks Alf for a week’s grace on the rent. Alf protests he’s just given them extra time and John wonders why Willow doesn’t have money. Dean says she’s been putting in for him and has just had a nursing home bill. Alf reluctantly agrees. Dean runs into Jasmine and tells her he’s sorted everything with Willow.

Mason is saying goodbye to Dempsey and, after nearly letting her go, manages to suggest meeting up some time. Dempsey can’t find her phone but does find a pen and writes her number on his arm. As Mason and Hunter are celebrating, Willow comes in and tells Mason to take over her shift at the gym: She has a problem called Jasmine. The two lads head down to the gym where Hunter notes Dempsey could be Mason’s date to the wedding and they celebrate getting the bucks party sorted.

Willow tracks Jasmine down near the Diner: Alf is working nearby and Leah and Marilyn are also approaching. Jasmine is initially pleased, thinking Willow’s on top of things, but Willow blasts her for interfering, telling her to stay out of her business. Jasmine snaps that Willow’s an addict and needs help. Willow slaps her, then realises how many people saw and beats a hasty retreat.
