Extended Summary

Willow leaves Salt, ignoring a text from Dean, as Brody and Ziggy come back up with a delivery. They banter about who’ll work for who when they get married. Olivia turns up to take Ziggy shopping for dress materials and jokingly threatens to dress her badly if she doesn’t co-operate. Ziggy picks up her bag and discovers the money is gone. Willow is exiting the surf club and checks her bag, which now contains the money. Dean approaches and asks about her hitting Jasmine. Willow says Jasmine just annoyed her. Dean says it’s not cool but softens when Willow kisses him and says she’s glad he doesn’t grill her.

Maggie asks Ben if he’s annoyed with her. Ben says he’s not but he can’t believe she’s giving up, since they have other options. Maggie says the treatment isn’t working: If a stem cell donation becomes available, she’ll take it, but she thinks she’s been so busy not dying that she hasn’t been living. Ben accuses her of making him and the girls watch her die. Maggie snaps that it’s her decision and it’s up to Ben whether he supports her or not, leaving the room. Meanwhile, Hazel is relaxing in Ebony’s motel room and complains about Ebony getting dressed up for her “new man”. Hazel argues that she should be running things but just snorts when Ebony invites her to go out and do that. Ebony says that Hazel nearly got herself caught again, while Hazel thinks they’d be rid of Colby and Robbo if Ebony had listened to her.

Ebony turns up at the Diner and finds Colby there. She says Robbo hinted that he’d had bad news. Colby says he was fired but is going to appeal. He is slightly bemused that she is now dating Robbo. He asks her for some space when Dean turns up but she continues to listen in from another table. Colby asks Dean to testify at his appeal and say he hasn’t had anything to do with the River Boys in years. He also wonders if Willow is involved, since she was there when the photo was taken and when the police showed up, but Dean insists otherwise. Ebony accompanies Colby up to the flat, ostensibly to wait for Robbo. He admits Dean isn’t a good witness and wonders who’s after him. He tells her about Boyd and wonders about his family but says they’re usually more direct. He then has another idea and calls Murray.

Willow arrives back at the caravan park and goes to her van. She turns on the radio and listens to a horse race, placing a betting slip down on the table. Meanwhile, Maggie has rejoined Ben and tells him she wants to take back control, even if it kills her. She also doesn’t want to tell the girls until after the wedding. Ben thinks it’s wrong but Maggie tells him to respect her wishes.

Brody, Ziggy and Olivia are turning Salt upside down looking for the money; Ziggy curses not taking it down with them. Ben comes in and, seeing his stricken expression and thinking he knows, Ziggy tells him about the money. Then she realises it’s not about that. Soon after, Ben, Brody and Ziggy are with Maggie at the farm house; Ben has filled the others in. Ziggy says they’re going to postpone the wedding. Maggie says that’s up to her but, although she’s sympathetic to Ziggy’s feelings, she isn’t going to change her mind about having treatment and just wants to enjoy seeing her get married.

Colby meets with Murray at the Diner. Ebony comes in and eavesdrops from the counter. Murray isn’t too impressed about being dragged into another of Colby’s plans and points out Colby’s got a number of points against him, with the tattoos and using his log-in. Colby says someone rang the police and lied about him brawling with Dean. He asks Murray to get him the number. Soon after, Ebony is back at her motel room searching for the burner phone she used. Hazel mocks this failure of her plan but Ebony insists she can adapt.

Dean finds Willow in her caravan as she hears the horse she backed, the favourite, come in last. Dean sees from the betting slip that she bet $3200. Willow initially claims she got a loan, but slowly unravels as she realises she’s lost her job, all her money and soon her place to live and won’t be able to pay Russell’s nursing home bills. She admits she stole Ziggy’s wedding money. Dean says he’ll fix it. Meanwhile, Brody and Ziggy walk near the beach. Ziggy doesn’t know what to do and Brody says he’ll go along with whatever she decides. Ziggy says she doesn’t just want Maggie at her wedding, she wants her to be there for her children and their children.

Dean passes Brody and Ziggy as he leaves Salt. Ziggy retrieves her bag and finds an envelope containing the money is now in it. Confused as to how she missed it before, she sees it as a sign. Outside, Dean runs into Willow, who is on her way to confess to Brody and Ziggy. He tells her he replaced the money, although he’s a bit vague about where he got it from. He convinces her to go down the beach with him.

Brody and Ziggy go back to the farm and tell Maggie they’re going ahead with the wedding. Maggie offers to help Brody plan the menu. While they’re talking, Ziggy explains to Ben that she’s hoping that after the wedding they can convince Maggie to resume treatment. They agree not to tell Coco. Meanwhile, Willow and Dean arrive back at the caravan park. Dean gets a text from someone called Brett reminding him he only has limited time to pay back the loan, but doesn’t tell Willow about it. She invites him into her van. Ebony watches from the bushes.

Murray meets Colby at the Diner and gives him the number. Colby drops hints about getting someone to track the phone. Meanwhile, Ebony watches as Willow and Dean leave the van. She then goes into the van, wipes the phone clean of prints and places it under Willow’s bed.
