Extended Summary

Raffy and Coco are walking on the beach. Raffy asks if there have been any developments with Ryder since the kiss and Coco insists she’s focusing on Maggie. Ryder comes over and gives Coco a lesson in skimming stones. After she does it successfully, he takes a photo of the three of them. Meanwhile, Ben and Brody hurry out of the court house; Ben has been given a good behaviour bond. Brody drives so Ben can change in the car. At the hospital, Maggie worries that Ben hasn’t turned up but Ziggy says he’s just late. Callan calls them through but just as they sit down, Ben rushes in. Ziggy joins Brody outside, leaving Ben to support Maggie.

In Hunter’s room, Jennifer shows him the photo of Ryder, Raffy and Coco. Although he is studying, Jennifer goes to kiss him but Alf suddenly walks in, reminding them he has an open door policy. He tells them to go downstairs and Hunter decides they should go to the Diner. They head down, passing Raffy, Ryder and Coco. Alf says it’s his house and rules and Jennifer refers to it as a monastery. After the others have all gone, Raffy and Coco ask Ryder about living with Jennifer and he notes she takes a long time in the shower. Coco gets a text from Ziggy about Maggie being out and hurries off. Raffy asks Ryder when he’s going to spend time with Coco. Ryder says they do but Raffy says only with her around: They need to have a proper date.

Coco arrives home and gives Maggie a hug; her white cell count is up and the doctors are happy for her to continue with chemo. Ziggy tells Brody and Coco to come and look at something in her room. Alone, Ben tells Maggie about his court date. At the Diner, Alf notices Jennifer and Hunter at a table and tells Leah about catching them in Hunter’s room. He thinks Jennifer’s the problem and suggests they talk to her father about her going home. Leah gives Olivia the pair’s coffees; Irene offers to take them over but Olivia insists she can do it. Overhearing them talking about going to the beach, she tries to join in the conversation and Hunter notes it’s good to have someone who likes the same things as him. Olivia goes out and Irene orders Hunter to talk with her outside.

Irene tells Hunter to stop with the sniping; their break-up might be Olivia’s fault but she’s still having a hard time of it. Irene mentions her seeing a counsellor. Hunter asks if she’s cutting herself again. Irene says she isn’t, but she’s not going to let Hunter push her back there and he isn’t respecting her or Jennifer. Later, Jennifer asks Hunter if they’re still going down the beach. Hunter, noticing Olivia sat nearby, thinks he should go and talk to her. Jennifer doesn’t seem happy but says she can find something to do. Hunter goes over to Olivia and asks her about the counselling. Olivia says she doesn’t have many people left to talk to. She suggests Hunter go back to Jennifer but he suggests they talk more.

Maggie chides Ben for not telling her, saying he could have gone to jail rather than getting a one year good behaviour bond, and that he promised to be honest. Ben says he didn’t want her to reschedule but Maggie says she wanted to support him. She asks him not to treat her differently now she’s ill. Ben assures her he always needs her. At the caravan park house, Ryder is trying to come up with a date for Coco, suggesting laser tag or rock climbing. Jennifer comes in and asks Ryder if Hunter talks about her, saying things have got serious between them. Raffy considers that an overshare and they end up exchanging barbs about being experienced.

Hunter and Olivia walk on the beach. Olivia asks him about uni before talk turns to Jennifer. Olivia says she didn’t get them at first but can see he cares for her. Hunter admits things may have gone too fast and they go for a tea. Back at the house, Ryder is still trying to come up with ideas; Raffy suggests couples cooking but Ryder says he hates classes. They try to ask Jennifer. Ryder says he won’t go out with Coco until she’s ready. Jennifer says not to take too long or she might run off with someone else. She leaves.

At the Diner, Leah learns from Ben, Maggie, Ziggy and Coco about Maggie’s results. She mentions Hunter and Jennifer. Maggie is worried about Coco spending time with Jennifer. Ziggy assures them Coco’s immature for her age and Coco protests that she’s her age for her age. As Ben, Maggie and Coco leave, Ziggy bumps into Olivia at the counter. Olivia asks after Maggie, them invites Ziggy to join her and Hunter. Ziggy is initially bemused but soon relaxing with them. Jennifer sees them and leaves; this is seen by Leah. Later, Leah arrives home and finds Jennifer making brownies for Hunter. Leah tries to say that Hunter and Olivia would still be close but Jennifer says she’s not worried since Hunter’s with her.

Ben and Maggie make up and kiss, which is interrupted by Coco, who calls it gross. Ben says to keep thinking that and never do it herself. Coco says she’s going to call Ryder and Raffy. Maggie suggests she’s been seeing a lot of Ryder lately and should make sure she’s prepared, which throws Coco somewhat, while Ben repeats his earlier advice. Meanwhile, Ryder is still trying to think of something, suggesting a hike before settling on just going to Salt. Coco calls and tells him Maggie’s results, which he shares with Jennifer and Raffy. Raffy silently (and Jennifer not so silently) tells him to ask her out. Coco seems worried when Ryder starts talking about something he wants to do, then relieved when he suggests a date, agreeing to do it tomorrow. Hunter comes home but turns down the brownies (although Ryder takes one). He goes upstairs to study. Jennifer follows and, despite his protests, starts kissing him.

Brody and Ziggy arrive back at the farm house. Coco takes Ziggy aside and admits she kissed Ryder and they’re going on a date, asking for advice on what to wear. Ziggy quickly tells the rest of the family, who tease Coco. Meanwhile, Leah finds Ryder studying downstairs and he admits Hunter and Jennifer are upstairs. Leah wants them to talk to them before Alf sees them…only for Alf to arrive home. Despite Hunter continuing to tell her to stop, Jennifer pushes him down on the bed. Alf walks in and says they can pack their bags.
