Extended Summary

Marilyn and Justin urge a disheartened Brody not to give up on Ziggy despite the Jarrod fiasco. Maggie subtly tries to warn her daughter off Jarrod when she discovers that Ziggy is softening towards him. Maggie questions what Ziggy even sees in him. Ziggy explains that Jarrod is fun and he understands her. Maggie tries to deter Ziggy from continuing down this path; but will she be successful? Jarrod rocks up at the Astonis, asking to hang out with Ziggy, leaving Maggie unimpressed. Jarrod insists that he isn’t going anywhere until they are on good terms again. Will Ziggy fall back under Jarrod’s spell? Brody expresses his unease to Ziggy about Jarrod, although he admits it is none of his business. Ziggy sympathises, knowing she would feel the same; but they aren’t together, things would be completely different if they were. She leaves Brody to contemplate this possibility ruefully. Has Brody missed his chance?

Willow searches for a job, but to no avail. Justin offers to put in a good word for her if she is interested in working at Salt or the Diner. While at the surf club, Justin overhears that John is looking to hire a new manager for the gym. Justin considers putting Willow forward just as Mason jumps in and expresses his interest in stepping up. At the Diner, Willow continues her job search, where she hears from Marilyn about the manager position at the gym. John offers Mason the job at the gym, just as Willow rocks up to hand in her resume and put herself forward. She is persistent and won’t give up without a fight, confidently pitching to John why she is the better candidate. Mason watches on in disbelief. John decides to settle the matter once and for all with a trial. Using Justin as their guinea pig, Mason and Willow compete for the gym job, both desperately trying to prove to John why they are the better candidate. In the end, John decides to hire them both. Willow thanks Justin for everything that he’s done for her; saying she’s never met a guy like him before. He takes her hand as she turns to go, the tension sizzles as they draw closer, finally giving in and leaning forward to kiss. She pulls Justin into her caravan. After they sleep together, Justin asks Willow if they need to talk about what this means. She boots him out immediately afterwards, throwing his clothes and shoes out at him.

Detective Inspector Shepherd pays a visit to the pier apartment with a warrant to search the premises. As Robbo and Kat wait with the other police outside, Kat begs McCarthy to do something, claiming that they are unfairly targeting Robbo. When Robbo tries to go over to Kat, an officer grabs him and tells him to stay put. Robbo throws the officer to the floor, and a scuffle ensues. Kat and the other residents of Summer Bay watch on in horror as Robbo is apprehended. Robbo is taken down to the station and questioned again. Shepherd comments that it is awfully convenient that their search failed to turn up the clothes that Robbo wore on the night Novak was killed. In an attempt to strengthen his own case, Robbo questions how they are so sure Novak died that night, since his phone was still giving off a signal in Summer Bay. Shepherd calls Kat into his office and berates her for sharing information about the investigation with Robbo. McCarthy consequently suspends her. Kat breaks down upon returning to the apartment, discovering that it has been ransacked by the police search. Is Kat about to lose everything?
