Ben reacts to Ziggy’s revelation. Coco’s conditions worsens. Scarlett agrees to help Brody again, but what does it mean for her and Justin?

Extended Summary

Justin and Brody argue over Brody seeing Ziggy after Ben warned him off. Brody says they went through hell together and it just happened. Justin thinks Ziggy could be a trigger for Brody’s drug taking. Brody insists that he cares about her but Justin thinks it’s a bad idea. Soon after, Justin runs into Alf and Scarlett at the Diner and he and Scarlett share awkward pleasantries. After she’s gone, Alf queries their decision to stay friends. Justin says it’s not that which he’s thinking about, Brody’s hiding something. Alf points out Brody’s been doing well recently.

Coco looks at photos Jennifer has posted of her and VJ on her phone. Ben and Maggie comment on her eating pizza when she’s meant to be having a surfing lesson in the morning. Coco says she’s going to have a shower. Ziggy comes home and claims she bumped into Brody accidentally and he seemed to be doing okay. Ben says that’s good…as long as Brody stays away from her. Next morning, Leah and VJ run into Scarlett, who has had an early morning swim, at the Diner. After Scarlett has left for work, Leah queries VJ spending time with Coco given Ben’s past attitude towards him. VJ thinks he and Ben are cool now.

Maggie comments on Coco’s small breakfast. VJ turns up and Ben acidly remarks he’d better keep his shirt on this time. VJ replies that they’re going to the beach so he probably won’t and Ben remembers the surfing lesson. Maggie offers them some food which Coco tries to refuse but VJ gladly accepts. After they’ve gone, Maggie tries to allay Ben’s suspicions but he reminds her of when he tried to give her surfing lessons. Ziggy comes through and Ben insists on giving her a lift to work.

At the Diner, Marilyn serves Raffy and suggests she ring Coco. Raffy initially claims Coco is busy and offers to help make coffee instead, then admits they haven’t spoken since they had a fight. Marilyn advises her to talk to Coco…and she soon gets a chance when VJ drags Coco in for coffee. Coco approaches Raffy and apologises, grovelling that Raffy’s smarter than her. Raffy accepts and leaves Coco her muffin while she goes to get coffee. Coco looks at it uncertainly.

Ziggy passes Justin as he arrives at the garage, quietly begging him to be nice. Ben follows her in and apologises to Justin for the way he treated Brody after the motel incident. Justin says he understands and will pass it on. He gets more and more uncomfortable as Ben asks how Brody’s doing and thanks him for letting Ziggy have time off. Justin goes home and tells Brody he can’t keep lying to Ben. However, Brody has something else to worry about. He’s received a letter from the court: His trial is in two weeks.

VJ, Coco and Raffy are eating together when Jennifer joins them, giving Coco a hug that leaves everyone bemused. She trades barbs with Raffy. Coco says VJ was going to give her a surfing lesson and, after a pointed look, invites Jennifer to join them. Jennifer says she tends to lose her bikini surfing but turns down VJ’s offer of a wetsuit. When the others are out of earshot, Raffy asks Coco about Jennifer and Coco bluntly replies that Raffy’s not her only friend. Marilyn approaches and queries Raffy not going with them. Raffy claims they asked her but she has to do homework.

Later, down at the beach, VJ directs Coco (now wearing a wetsuit) and Jennifer (in a bikini) jumping onto the board but Coco is clearly weak and barely moves the second time. VJ suggests they go in the water but as they head off, Coco faints. She soon comes round and they help her sit down; she claims she didn’t get enough sleep. VJ refuses to let her in the water and tells her to rest and then go and get a juice. Jennifer drops hints that Coco should make herself scarce, then heads out into the water with VJ. Raffy comes along and wonders why Coco isn’t with them. Coco snaps that she didn’t ask Raffy to come so Raffy leaves upset.

Justin looks over the charge sheet which includes theft and resisting arrest. Brody comes back from phoning his lawyer’s office: His lawyer is in Broome, riding camels. They need a new lawyer. They go to the bait shop but Alf says Morag is ill at the moment and Scarlett has run out of contacts. She muses that Brody is pleading guilty, has shown remorse, helped the police catch Zannis and went to rehab, so a good lawyer should get him a suspended sentence or community service. They ask her but she points out she’s a witness. After an awkward pause, she says she’ll retract her statement and advise them but won’t do any more than that.

Brody goes to the garage to chat to Ziggy, filling her in on his situation and how it’s come just as he’s getting things together. Justin arrives and overhears as Ziggy reassuring Brody. He smiles. Meanwhile, Alf finds Scarlett fishing on the wharf. He asks her if she misses working in the legal business and wonders what her reason for not taking the case was. Scarlett thinks she could do it but isn’t ready. Alf says he always thought Scarlett would move on and suggests she could help some friends along the way.

At the garage, Brody bemoans his lack of a lawyer to Justin. Scarlett turns up and says she’ll represent him, asking them to help out by getting references from the people at rehab. She’s going to look at the police file. Justin asks if she’s worried about flying under the radar and she says she’ll use her maiden name, Dwyer. After she’s gone, Justin tells Brody that he can tell he cares about Ziggy and won’t stand in his way but doesn’t think he should be lying. At the Diner, Maggie and Ziggy find Raffy still working. She says she’s missed things with the move and thinks she should go back down a year. She doesn’t seem too keen when Maggie offers to help her. Brody beckons Ziggy outside and tells her they need to tell people. Ziggy agrees but asks for a week to pave the way with Ben.

Coco unhappily watches VJ and Jennifer surfing together. Ben arrives and comments on how VJ couldn’t get her in the water either. Coco says she’s going to get changed and go for a run. A short time later, she is jogging up a flight of wooden steps but feels dizzy and faints again, falling back down the stairs. She hits her head and lies still.
