Extended Summary
It’s night time, and Brody is looking at the scorpion bag (of ice) that Zannis slid in his pocket, preparing to pour it down the sink – when Tori walks in the front door. They discuss their nights when Mason walks in and asks if they want to binge TV. Brody insists that he’s going to head to bed, despite Tori’s offer to make popcorn. Tori & Mason talk about how busy she’s been, what with work and baby-sitting Luc, and then Mason enquires: is Ash still nursing a broken heart? In the morning, Mason brings home coffee to Brody (who’s just hidden the scorpion bag). Mason assures his brother that they’re all very proud of him. He then enquires about Ziggy, to which Brody assures that he’s firmly in the friend-zone.
In the Pier Apartment, Ash and Kat enter after their date and kiss passionately. Ash informs Kat that Luc is at Irene’s, and that they can make as much noise as they want if he makes her breakfast. They head to the bedroom. The next day, Tori runs into Kat in the Diner, and points out that she’s all dressed up. Kat tells Tori all about their night together, but Tori quickly questions their relationship. Kat assures that they needed some time apart (and away from Luc) and now that they’re dating again, before heading off. Kat thanks Tori for being such a good friend, before heading off (not wanting to be spotted doing the walk of shame). Then, Ash comes in with Luc and asks whether she wants to go for a walk.
The next morning, Marilyn is encouraging John and Raffy to keep up with her as they’re going on a brisk stroll – they have to do 10,000 steps a day. John, wanting to get out of it, brings up Raffy’s assignment that she has to do – Marilyn forgot about it. Raffy brushes the subject away, asking whether she can go for a swim first. They reluctantly agree, stipulating that she be home in an hour. Later, in the Diner, Marilyn tells John that they have to be fit and healthy, especially with having Raffy’s impressionable mind around.
Down at the Beach, Tori and Ash bond over Luc, and he thanks her for babysitting. Tori gently pushes the Kat situation, and Ash tells her that the sex is great, but he’s still not sure – do he and Kat really have a future together? They want different things, but Tori then remembers that she has a meeting and is forced to head off, leaving Ash wondering if he said anything wrong. Back at the Morgan House, it’s evident Tori made up an excuse to leave Ash. Mason quizzes her on why she’s being weird, and she opens up: she has a crush on Ash – and both he and Kat keep talking to her about relationship issues, and she doesn’t want to hear it. Her phone rings – it’s Ash. She answers it and she asks if he could baby-sit, but she very awkwardly dismisses and hangs up, leaving Ash confused as Kat enters. Kat insists that it’s okay if Luc comes to lunch, but Ash pushes – Irene loves having her, it’ll be fine.
Elsewhere, Brody meets up with Zannis and gives him back his bag – he’s not getting back into it. Zannis assures that it’s just a delivery, and after everything he’s done for him, but Brody refuses to concede. And then up comes Raffy, who Zannis recognises, and names her. Brody tells her that he’ll find her later, and after she leaves, he tells Zannis to leave her alone. Zannis agrees, on one condition: there’s a package arriving at Salt in a few hours – be there to collect it. At Salt, Brody and Kat make small talk until a courier arrives with Zannis’ package. Brody orders him to leave, assuring that the package isn’t for him. Later, Zannis tells Brody to get in his car (with a thug in the back seat). Brody tells him he declined the package and that he’s not doing anything else for him. Zannis signals, and the thug puts Brody in a choke-hold. Zannis holds up a bottle of potassium chloride, informing Brody that if half a bottle can put Tori in hospital, a whole bottle could kill someone Raffy’s size – you’ll accept the package.
Back at Salt, Ash and Kat try to decide on what they’ll have for lunch, when Ash suggests that next time they have a quiet one with Luc, which Kat agrees to. Tori enters, and quickly deflects when Kat asks her to join them for a drink. Then, Ash and Kat discuss how weird she’s been lately and they realise that they’ve both been talking to Tori – which Kat takes badly. She heads down and confronts her on the beach – why didn’t you tell us? Where’s your loyalty? Tori assures Kat that she never broke her trust and promises to never act as a confidante for either of them again, before being called off. Ash finally catches up to Kat and she tells him that they can’t move on – she doesn’t like being manipulated, but Kat doesn’t want to hear it. And with that, she heads off to work.
Later, at Marilyn and John’s house, Raffy walks in to find a whole spread laid out for her homework. Raffy tells Marilyn and John that she needs help, and Marilyn assures her that John is an expert when it comes to Ancient Egypt. He puts on a front, but that both agree to help her, whatever it takes. After some work, Raffy and John banter over whether the internet or books are a better source of information, and from this, Raffy finds the idea that she’ll base her assignment around. For a break, they head out and find Brody, who makes Raffy promise not to leave John and Marilyn. Rushing into the Morgan House, Brody tells Mason they have to close the windows and lock the doors and when he finally calms, Brody tells him that Zannis is after him. Tori rushes in and Brody reveals all: Zannis poisoned Tori which resulted in her hospitalisation, and now he’s threatening to kill Raffy. If Brody doesn’t move drugs through Salt, Zannis will come after them.
