Justin’s neediness becomes too much. Mason gives Hunter some unwanted advice. Riley searches for answers about Tori.
Extended Summary
John argues with Nate – there must be something else they can do to try and fix Marilyn’s hand, it can’t be dying! Nate offers another option: leeches. They can use specially grown leeches to stimulate blood flow to the area. Confronted, Marilyn begins to cry. John urges Marilyn to make a decision, but she’s scared. Later, Marilyn agrees to the leeches and John tells her that he’s incredibly proud. Nate eventually has the leeches brought into Marilyn’s room and puts them on her hands. John tries to keep Marilyn comforted by discussing the latest fashion in Milan, but Marilyn is distracted by the length of time that the leeches have been on her hands. When Nate examines her, they are overwhelmed to learn that the leeches are working and Marilyn’s hand should recover.
Tori interrupts Justin’s lazy afternoon of throwing paper at the bin. She discusses the Phoebe situation with him, and he hesitantly tells her that things are working out. Raffy enters and asks to hurry up so that they can go to the beach. Justin asks for breakfast but they leave instead. Down at the beach, Riley runs into Nate. Riley questions Nate about whether or not there is something going on with him and Tori. Nate denies it. Later, at the Diner, Tori and Raffy run into Riley. Raffy goes to get a table as Tori and Riley discuss her relationship with Nate, but she’s sure it’s over. Tori finally gets her new phone and listens to her old messages. Phoebe rocks up and points out that Tori has moved on fast after seeing her with Riley. Tori assures her that there is nothing going on between the two of them, and is shocked when she listens to the message that Nate left – Nate wanted to get back together! At the hospital, Riley reveals to Nate that he wants Tori back.
Evelyn approaches Phoebe and asks how Justin is going after giving her grief over not being home for a while. Phoebe assures her that everything is fine with him, except he’s a little difficult to take care of. Phoebe, now at the Morgan house, tells a needy Justin that she needs to go to work. She’s spills to Brody about how stressful Justin is becoming – she misses her Alpha male boyfriend. Brody heads home and gives Justin a talking to about how he’s treating Phoebe. He tells him to ease off slightly if he wants to keep her. Phoebe finds Justin at the beach – he’s realised that he’s been kind of annoying lately, and that maybe some space would help them have a healthy relationship. Unfortunately, back at the Morgan house, Justin now pesters Brody for more food.
Olivia is shocked when she learns that Hunter isn’t going back to school. He assures her that he’s not giving up, but his life is none of her business anymore. Back at the Morgan house, Olivia confides in Mason that she is worried about her ex-boyfriend, but Mason encourages her to forget it – she doesn’t owe him anything. Down at Flat Beach, Alf watches as Mason confronts Hunter about his decision to leave school. He’s sick of seeing Olivia worried about him. This soon escalates into a full blown confrontation that Alf breaks up. Alf manages to calm Hunter down, reminding him that it’s nice that he has people that care about what he does with his future. Hunter admits that he still has no idea what he wants to do with his life. Alf convinces him that maybe he should finish his HSC while he figures that out. Hunter then tells Olivia that he is going back to school and apologises to Mason.
