Mick terrorises Irene. Tori reveals the truth about Riley. Alf and John begin a search for Marilyn.
Extended Summary
Riley runs into Turner in the corridor and she claims to be a new doctor named Susan Moore. Riley is surprised, since he thought he was the only doctor starting today, but accepts the explanation and, when she claims to be a paediatrician helping out with the bush fire, says she looks kind. After directing him to the tea room, Turner uses a pass card to enter a store room and takes some ampoules. Nearby, Leah and Zac watch as Nate checks Hunter over. Hunter wants to leave but Nate says he has a concussion and needs to be kept under observation.
The phone rings at the beach house but Mick tells Irene to leave it. Nate leaves a message, wondering if Olivia’s shown up and saying Hunter’s in hospital. Mick tells Irene that what he has to say is important and she needs to give him a chance. Irene nervously tries to placate him. Brody calls out and Mick tells Irene to keep quiet but Irene pushes past him and runs to Brody, coming in the back, telling him to phone the police. When she looks round, Mick is gone.
Riley tells Tori he checked on Justin but was worried how he’d react if he woke up and saw him. Tori is uncomfortable with Riley’s familiarity but agrees to explain her disappearance. They head to the staff room where she fills him in on witness protection. Riley says he thought she’d left because of him and Tori reminds him her parents had just been shot. Nate comes in and greets Riley in a friendly manner, explaining they met at the conference in Bali. He realises Tori and Riley know each other and Riley confirms they go way back.
At the Palmer house, Alf tells John the SES had a good reason for calling off the search and Marilyn could still turn up but John can’t see a reason why she wouldn’t contact them. After searching the cupboards throughout their chat, he finally finds a torch and heads out. At the beach house, Brody is on the phone and tells Irene the police could be a while. Irene says Mick said all the right things but she couldn’t believe him. Mason and Olivia wander in without a care in the world. Brody is furious, saying the SES have been looking for them. He says Justin’s been stabbed and Turner’s on the loose.
Leah is near the surf club and sees Mick doubled up. She asks if he’s all right and he says he’s fine. As she goes to her car, he follows and thanks her for checking on him. Leah nervously nods and drives off. Back at the beach house, Olivia says it was her idea to leave the festival while Mason has a phone conversation with an irate Tori. Even though no-one wants to leave her, Irene tells Brody and Mason to go to their family and Olivia to go see Hunter. The matter is resolved when Murray appears with another officer and promises Irene won’t be left alone.
John is searching the bush but his torch gives out. Alf appears looking fully equipped with SES gear, saying John was right about searching but they should do it properly. He gives John a more powerful torch, hard hat, high visibility vest and radio, saying they should circle the festival ground in opposite directions and keep in touch. John however fails to spot Marilyn’s bag and shoe. At the hospital, Nate tells Tori he’s checked on Justin and asks how she knows Riley. Tori says they were at uni together. Nate presses for more but Tori says since he broke up with her it’s none of his business. At the police station, Kat is waiting for news of CCTV but tells Constable Corelli that Turner would know where the cameras are. She then gets a call saying Justin’s car is at the hospital.
Mason visits Justin and apologises but Justin says he didn’t even know Mason was missing. Tori gives him a sedative. She heads for her office while Mason goes to find Olivia. Turner goes into Justin’s room and injects him with the contents of a syringe, saying his father started it. Hunter is surprised to see Olivia, who has heard from Brody that he went back into the fire. Hunter eventually admits he was looking for her. Olivia says he shouldn’t have done but thanks him. Mason watches them. Tori, Nate and Brody are all in the admin area; Raffy is asleep in the office. Turner emerges from Justin’s room. Tori and Nate rush in and start resuscitating Justin. Brody chases Turner, just as Kat and Corelli emerge from the lift in front of her. Turner offers no resistance as she’s handcuffed; Kat says she’s under arrest again.
Olivia and Mason arrive back at the beach house; Irene is alone but says there’s a couple of cops watching the place. Mason says Justin is fine and Olivia says Hunter is stubborn, stupid and annoyingly brave. Irene goes up to bed. Mason asks Olivia what the deal is with her and Hunter and whether she still wants to be with him. Olivia says they’re just friends but Mason thinks there’s a connection between them. Olivia says she felt guilty that he got hurt looking for her. Mason says a rather abrupt farewell and leaves.
Back at the hospital, Kat is guarding Turner and tells Brody and Tori that they’re waiting for an armed escort to take her to a Supermax. Over her objections, the siblings go into Turner’s room. Tori says Turner injected Justin with insulin but he’s alive. She asks why. Turner says their father got her father involved in the syndicate, then put all the blame on him when he cut a deal and her father died in prison. She claims she joined the police to bring down the system. She says it must be great to know Koby wasn’t a saint. Brody retorts that it’s great her revenge has come to this. Kat says the transport’s arrived; as Turner is led away, Tori says she’s sorry about her dad.
Olivia finds Irene up and offers to stay with her but Irene insists she go back to bed. She hears something outside and grabs a knife but it’s Heath, Bianca and Harley. They all observe they have a lot to catch up on. Out in the bush, Alf finds Marilyn’s other shoe and then Marilyn herself, unconscious and badly injured. He calls for an ambulance.
