Extended Summary

Romeo is having strange dreams about people leaving and it all comes down to one thing – the question of will Annie leave him? Romeo and Annie are struggling in the rehearsals. Knowing that Annie hasn’t yet decided whether she’s staying or going, everything’s up in the air and Romeo isn’t sure what to think. Annie and Romeo are doing a terrible job on stage. Annie’s looming decision is holding them both back. The director, Mel wonders why they are holding back when their characters are meant to be in love. Mel tells them their performance doesn’t cut it. They are given an exercise to get them back into character. The exercise leads them back into a more romantic state – something they were hoping to avoid.

Meanwhile Ruby asks Annie why she hasn’t told Romeo whether she’s going or staying – and she says the reason is he hasn’t asked. Before the play starts Romeo confronts Annie, wondering if she’s made the decision to stay, but they’re interrupted and she wishes him luck. Romeo has to get through the whole play not knowing if Annie will be his by the end of it.

Ruby is nervous about her stage performance tonight. At the same time she’s very excited. Ruby and Liam are rehearsing her song when she hits a wrong note, she’s nervous and it’s all catching up with her. Liam says she can use those nerves to get a better performance. Ruby isn’t so sure.

Put on the spot, Angelo tells Martha that the reason him and Alf were talking about Hugo was because they have reason to believe Hugo stashed money somewhere before he died. Even though this is a diversion from Hugo, they are very close to the truth. Martha asks if there’s anything else they are keeping from her? Alf lies and say – no there isn’t. Martha apologies to Alf for being so mean to him earlier and thinking he was keeping secrets from her. Angelo goes in to work, upset at the fact that Alf is finding it hard to keep the secret from Martha from Martha, Charlie queries – what secret? This is when Angelo tells Charlie straight out – Hugo is still alive. Charlie thinks that Hugo’s family should know that he’s alive and escaped witness protection, especially if they’re in danger. It has been approved by head office so no one’s saying anything, says Angelo. Charlie decides to keep Angelo’s secret.

Miles talks to Elijah about quitting. Miles knows he was suspended because he believes in Rabbit – but what’s wrong with that, he wonders? Elijah believes in God and everyone respects him for it. Elijah wants to confirm that Miles is in fact quitting his job and throwing it all in, to prove that what he believes is real. Elijah also wonders why Miles won’t ask any of his friends for help with his problem with Rabbit.

Xavier is wondering why Romeo hasn’t simply asked Annie whether she’s going or not. Romeo is adamant that Annie will tell him when she’s good and ready.
