It’s a sad day in Summer Bay as Belle’s final goodbyes are revealed, but a gift to Nicole upsets Aden.
Extended Summary
It’s the day of Belle’s funeral and the residents of Summer Bay are still trying to come to terms with the fact that she is no longer with them. Remembering their final moments with Belle, Geoff and Annie struggle with their loss, while Irene is left grief stricken at her passing.
Aden is frantically searching for the necklace he and Nicole bought for Belle as he wants her to wear it. However, while Aden continues searching, Nicole remembers Belle giving it to her. Later, Aden discovers that Nicole had Belle’s necklace and angrily snatches it from her neck. While Nicole tries to explain why she had it, an angry Aden lashes out at her.
Belle’s friends and family gather for her funeral service and both Irene and Aden say an emotional goodbye to the woman who held a special place in both their hearts. After the service, a delivery of balloons arrives and while everyone is initially confused, it soon emerges Belle had organised for them to be delivered after the service. Aden walks off to be alone but Nicole follows him and hands him a single red balloon in memory of Belle. Aden holds it for a moment before letting it go and watching it float higher and higher into the sky.
A trashed Liam gatecrashes the funeral service and a furious Geoff tells him to leave as the two almost come to blows before Alf separates them. Later, Nicole talks to Liam about Belle’s passing and says she just wants the pain to stop. Liam and Nicole get in his car and he tells her to help herself to his stash of drugs. Sid arrives and tries to get Nicole to come with him, but she insists she’s fine and drives off with Liam.
