Extended Summary

Jack is still coming to terms with Martha’s decision to have a mastectomy as he waits for her to come out of surgery. After the operation, Rachel tells him they still couldn’t clear all the cancer. It has spread and the best option for Martha would be to have a course of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, something Jack knows Martha will turn down as she doesn’t want to harm the baby. And he is right – when they try to broach the subject with her she is adamant that she won’t have the treatment until after the baby is born. Jack begs her to re-consider but their conversation ends with Martha, hurt and confused, lashing out at him – it’s her decision, and for all they know Jack isn’t even the father so if he can’t support her, why doesn’t he just get out. Stung by her vicious attack, Jack leaves the room and Martha breaks down.

Jack has been thinking about what Martha said, and suggests to her to involve Roman in the decision about her treatment. Martha says she has made her mind up regardless of who the baby’s father is. But, she admits that not knowing the paternity of the baby is an added pressure and she just doesn’t have the energy to keep worrying about it. So, Jack suggests they take control of the problems they can control – and that means doing the DNA test.

Roman has a heart to heart with Nicole and manages to clear the air. Nicole is looking forward to Elliot coming to town but Roman gets a shock when he turns up earlier than expected. There is something about Elliot that Roman doesn’t trust and there is something about Roman that has seriously got to Elliot. Is Nicole the real reason he is moving to Summer Bay? Or does Elliot have other ideas?

Belle is desperately trying to seduce Aden into going all the way, but starts to get disheartened by his excuses not to. When he turns down a romantic night at The Sands, Belle decides to confront the issue with Aden. She wonders if he is not into her physically, but he insists that he is absolutely ready to go all the way.

Later, as they are getting it on, Aden begins to panic. He starts having flashbacks, remembering being abused by his grandfather. Fear grips him and he tells her to stop and get off him. Confused, Belle asks him if he is all right but Aden is terrified. He can’t tell her the real reason, instead he lashes out at her saying she has been with every guy in town and she is nothing but a skank. Shocked, confused and hurt, Belle begins to cry as Aden storms out of the room. What on earth just happened?
