Ross and Morag tie the knot. Martha prepares for surgery. Romans concern for Nicole deepens.
Extended Summary
It’s the morning of Ross and Morag’s wedding and Martha delivers a present from Colleen – a brooch that Colleen wore on her wedding day – Colleen wants Morag to wear it today, but Morag is less than taken with it. Alf’s powers of persuasion convince her to at least take it with her to put on for the photos, for Colleen’s sake. As Morag moves down the stairs to leave for the wedding, she is a picture of elegance and sophistication. Ross is sure to be blown away!
It’s hard to tell who is more shocked by Ric’s surprise kiss – Kirsty, Ric or Miles, who has witnessed the whole thing. Clearly embarrassed, Ric takes off, leaving Miles to ask a seriously confused Kirsty if there is anything going on with them – No! Kirsty starts to question whether moving in to the Summer Bay House is such a good idea. When Leah finds out about Kirsty’s doubts she decides to offer to take her place and move in instead. But before Leah even gets the chance to ask Miles, Kirsty receives a heartfelt apology from Ric and decides she will move in after all, leaving Leah disappointed.
When Ric arrives to pick Martha up to take her to the wedding, he is surprised to see that she is sitting at the dining table in her dressing gown surrounded by information on cancer and surgery. She is distracted and when Ric tries to encourage her to talk she urges him to go on ahead without her. Ric is clearly worried but has no choice but to go to the Surf Club alone. Once he arrives, Ric tells Jack that he is concerned about Martha but before he can go any further, he gets cut off mid-sentence as Jack spots a stunningly beautiful Martha who has just walked in, smiling radiantly across the room. She has turned up after all and she looks amazing!
Ross and Morag couldn’t be happier as they exchange vows and the wedding goes off without a hitch. As they seal their union with a kiss, the crowd cheers. Everyone is feeling romantic; Jack tells Martha how beautiful she is, Roman leads Charlie on to the dance floor and Morag and Ross only have eyes for each other.
Martha has a few hours respite from thinking about surgery but when she gets home the stark reality hits her; she is going into hospital tomorrow and this could be the start of a very tumultuous journey.
Roman has been trying to get hold of Nicole at her mother’s but doesn’t hear anything until he and Charlie arrive home together after the wedding. A text message arrives on Roman’s mobile and the news isn’t good. Nicole’s mother had no idea Nicole was supposed to be with her – she has been away and hasn’t heard from Nicole in weeks. So, if Nicole is not with her mum, where on earth is she?
