Kane might not be as innocent as Kirsty believes. Jai’s certainly strange, but is he a thief? Martha sinks further into her lie.

Extended Summary

Miles is doing his best to get through to Jai, but the boy is still unwilling to let him in or make any effort of his own. When Annie introduces herself, however, Jai’s surprisingly friendly, at least for him, even smiling for a moment. It seems there’s a normal kid in there somewhere after all.

After catching Jai in the kitchen of the Den, apparently getting himself a drink because nobody was there to serve him, Leah has a large sum of money stolen, and instantly jumps to the conclusion that it was Jai.

Kirsty is scared to tell Kane that she wants to stop running and settle down with Oliver. To do so would mean essentially leaving him. But Irene thinks it’s the right thing to do, and that Kane will understand. Unable to make their move until Oliver’s let out of hospital, Kirsty and Kane decide the only place to stay is the caravan park, and they’ll just have to make sure no one they know sees them. But being back at the caravan park only brings back Kirsty’s memories and strengthens her thoughts about not wanting to leave. When Kirsty finally lets loose how she really feels, that she doesn’t want to leave Summer Bay again, and thinks Kane should turn himself in, he can hardly believe it. She thinks he’ll be fine, he was innocent to begin with, and now, after living on the run without committing any crimes, surely that will count for something in court? But sitting in Kane’s bag is Leah’s stolen money, and we can’t help but wonder, what else has he done to keep them afloat that she doesn’t know about?

Roman is dumbstruck to know that he might be the father of Martha’s child, and he thinks she should tell Jack, but Martha’s insistent on keeping it to herself. To Martha’s surprise, Roman soon decides that he doesn’t need a baby in his life, and he wants to just say it’s Jack’s. But when Jack sees Roman comforting her, he begins to wonder if this is why Martha might have been acting so strange. When Jack calls her on it, and the strange way she’s been behaving, Martha tells him a shade of the truth. That she just found out today that she’s pregnant. All worries forgotten, Jack is utterly excited. But can Roman really give up all paternal instincts so easily?
