Extended Summary
Martha and Matilda wonder how Sally found out about Cassie’s pregnancy. Martha insists she needs to go to the city to tell Cassie face to face about Sally’s attack and Dan’s death. She questions if it best to leave them in ignorant bliss given all the other problems Cassie is faced with but their decision is made and the girls prepare to go to the city to tell Cassie the truth.
Meanwhile, in the city, Ric and Cassie are relaxing in a park. Whilst Ric chats up a girl in the distance, Cassie is approached by a guy. He talks to her, until suddenly, Cassie is overwhelmed and the tears start streaming down her cheeks. She apologises to the guy before Ric walks back to her, Ric is shocked to see her so upset. She explains that being hit on by a guy will never be the same again because any new guy she meets she’ll have to tell them at some stage she’s HIV positive. And she dreads the reactions she will get from people. Ric wraps her in a hug, trying to offer her comfort.
