Episode 4555

Australian Air Date: 23rd November 2007

Will Rachel be the hospital attacker’s next victim? Martha says goodbye to the Bay. Has she made the right decision?

Extended Summary

Having been charged with negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, Cassie is incredibly stressed. Morag offers her help, and Matilda apologises for her behaviour, but it all seems cold comfort when presented with the very real possibility that she might be spending the next year in prison, instead of uni.

As Martha and Michael prepare to leave, planning to drive until they find somewhere they like, stay until they’re bored and move on, a series of coincidences keep Martha from seeing Jack to say goodbye. When she leaves a message on his answering machine, Sam deletes it. Michael, playing his part, gives Jack a visit to suggest he stay away from the farewell, and Jack agrees. While Jack finally knows where he’s going, Martha, as she drives away, thinking of Jack, only knows what she’s running from.

While the male staff of the hospital are given DNA tests to try to find a match with the DNA from under Martha’s nails after the attack, Rachel finds the attacker’s parker in the hospital laundry. But when the police arrive, she’s horrified to find it’s disappeared. The attacker is definitely someone from the hospital. And as she heads home she finds a note on her car. It says she’s being watched.
