Lucas has finally come to realise the depth of his feelings for Lisa – but it’s all too late. Belle is shocked by Drew’s callous attitude as he blatantly lies to the police investigating the accident.

Extended Summary

Ric and Drew are in a jubilant mood, pumped after their lucky escape from Denni. Lucas, however, is worried about the payback Denni might extract on Lisa – and it gets tense when Drew makes it clear he’s got zero sympathy for Lisa. As far as he’s concerned, she’s the one to blame for making all this trouble in the first place. What he doesn’t know is that Matilda and Belle are still searching for them in the police car with Fitzgerald – and they’ve made a shocking discovery: Denni has crashed his car, and while he seems to have survived, Lisa’s injuries are life threatening.

News of the accident sobers Ric and Drew – who swear to Mattie and Belle that they had nothing to do with the accident. And Drew swings into immediate action. Knowing that the cops will want to inspect his car, he hides it away and strips it of the stolen spare parts supplied by Dom. Belle is deeply shocked that he’s lying to the police, and her anger and disappointment only deepen when she learns that Lisa has died.

But it’s Lucas who’s hit hardest, hating himself for letting Lisa think that he was ashamed of her – and painfully aware that he could have done more to stop Lisa getting back in the car with Denni. Tony tries to comfort his son, but Lucas’s guilt and anger see him confront Denni in hospital. Will Lucas go too far?

Through this, Jazz does her best to protect Drew from the police investigation, insisting on his innocence. To her relief, Drew is finally cleared of having caused the accident. But his problems are only just beginning. At Belle’s insistence, he’s handed his car over to the police – and they’ve discovered the stolen parts. Fitzgerald now understands why he was stalling, and she confronts Drew: “Andrew Curtis, I’m arresting you and charging you with the receipt of stolen goods.” It looks like Drew is in deep trouble…
