As her web of lies closes in around her, Tara goes to drastic lengths to protect the truth, while Tasha’s struggle to cope with motherhood reaches a heartbreaking climax.

Extended Summary

The cries of Baby Ella fill the house – she’s all alone…. As Tasha runs along the beach, finally collapsing in a heap, tears streaming down her face, feeling alone and scared. Meanwhile, Martha comments to Jack about how well Tasha is doing – Charity is really helping out and Martha hopes with Charity’s guidance Tasha will overcome the awful feelings she’s been having. As the pair are walking along the beach they see Tasha, Martha asks what’s wrong, but all she can do is shake her head, saying she had to get out of there, away from Ella. Concerned, Martha asks where Ella is? We then see little Ella still crying and someone moving in to comfort her – it’s Charity! And something’s not quite right… By the time Martha, Jack and Tasha get to the house, little Ella is nowhere to be found! Tasha is in complete shock as Martha tries to get hold of Irene and Robbie and Jack calls for police back up. Finally Irene calls Martha, revealing that she’s at the hospital with Charity, Ella and Robbie. They race to the hospital and Irene informs them that Robbie is with Ella, seeing the doctor. Charity came to the house and found Ella alone, running a temperature, so brought her here and tried to call Tasha, but there was no answer. Tasha moves into the doctor’s office – Robbie can hardly bear to look at her as Dr Young explains that Ella has a fever but should be fine – lucky Charity brought her in so quickly. He leaves the couple alone as Tasha apologises for what she did, hating herself for it, calling herself a bad mother. Robbie lets her know that what she did was wrong – but also understands it’s a symptom of what she’s going through and will continue to support her. Rob hands Ella to her, tentative at first, Tasha holds her baby, who gently stops crying in her mum’s arms. The couple emerge from the doctors office – Tasha thanks Charity for what she did – she wants her to keep dropping around, to learn from her, to be a better mum. Charity is happy to do this. At home, Tasha looks down at Ella, stroking her hand against Ella’s faces Tasha is feeling a little better now.

Rachel tells Leah that she’s put her notice in at work and waiting for a city transfer so she can be with Kim. It’s all so stressful and she really misses him. All Rachel wants is to clear Kim’s name, but how? On her way home, Rachel sees Tara and she continues to be cocky and awful. Rachel bites her tongue and moves on. Tara then moves into the gym and flirts with Lucas, who has no idea who she is. Furious, Tony tells her to get out – she’s no longer welcome. Tara storms out as Tony explains who she is to Lucas. It’s not long before Amanda arrives to let Tony know he can’t refuse Tara’s membership – this is business and we’ll lose a lot of clients. Tony’s job is threatened if he doesn’t comply and he’s left to back down – seething. That afternoon at the bar, Morag assures Rachel that they’ll clear Kim’s name – she has a few ideas up her sleeve. She meets up with the shop keeper who pressed charges against Tara for shop lifting and discovers that this wasn’t her first offence – daddy pressured the shopkeeper into staying quiet many times before and Tara’s mother made mention that she did this for her father’s attention. Intrigued, Morag arranges to meet with the former Mrs O’Neill to get the truth.

Tara’s mum, Grace, reveals that her daughter starting acting up when Gordon got a promotion and was hardly ever home. The stunts became more elaborate with Grace seeing the truth, but Gordon defending Tara. Grace left Gordon when Tara reported that her mother bashed her and Gordon questioned his own wife. Morag begs Grace to help show that Kim is innocent, she finally agrees. Morag fills in Rachel and Leah on her latest findings, but they still need to find the missing DNA tests. Tara then struts into the bar to buy water and makes another remark to Rachel, who this time bites back telling her not to be so confident! Tara is left rattled – what have they found out? She returns to the gym where Lucas is working alone. She tries to flirt, but Lucas makes it clear he’s not interested and tells her that Kim is a good friend of his. He tells her he’s closing up, she has to leave. Tara says she will after she gets changed and struts to the change rooms. Lucas goes to move Tara’s gym bag and everything falls out, including the missing DNA results proving Kim’s innocence! Lucas is stunned as Tara walks out – he calls her a thief, holding the results up. Without a second thought, Tara snatches the paper from him, grabs a lighter and tries to send the evidence up in flames! Lucas tries to grab it, Tara smirks – going to be hard to prove anything now! But Lucas doesn’t care – he’s going to tell the police anyway. Tara panics and thinking quickly, rips open her top, ruffles her hair and starts screaming for Lucas to get off her as she scratches herself. Lucas is stunned – what the hell is going on?!
