Extended Summary

Fisher is up and Harry thinks he is avoiding his mother, but Fisher denies this.

June and Harry arrive at the Diner, but Fisher leaves immediately. She knows that he does not like having him around.

Shauna is at the Diner with Harry and June and is being asked questions about her background. She feels June has gone a bit too far when she demands to know why she has not asked more questions about her family. June wants more coffee and while waiting for some, questions Ailsa, who gets annoyed with her.

At Fisher’s place, June is ready to move out and tells him that she knows he has been avoiding her. Fisher says he has not, and that he is envious of her and that her book is very good. She is surprised to hear this, as she says that Fisher is more cultured than her, which she envies. She has read Fisher’s writing on Letter to Byron, and loves it. She tells him it is better than her writing as she cannot use her imagination like he does and that he should have it published; she offers to find a publisher for him.

Harry and Shauna return to Fisher’s place and they are both surprised when his mother is going down the pub with Fisher. Fisher eats humble pie and gets a date out of it.

Leah is jealous of Vinnie spending too much time at her place; she thinks he is after Sally. She confronts her, and he gets shocked. Later on, when Leah returns, she discovers a lot of flowers around the room. The notes with the flowers are anonymous and are far from Vinnie’s style. Vinnie comes over and it is revealed that it was not him who sent the flowers. He thinks that Ted is after her, but Leah points out he has a girlfriend. He goes far as to suggest that other residents of the Bay may be after her: even Joel and Alf! Leah gets shocked and then discovers that it was Vinnie who bought the flowers. Vinnie was trying to show her his point, but has learnt that it was a dangerous practical joke when he tries to apologise to her; he gets bruised on his head after Leah starts throwing things at her!

Sally is walking along the beach; she is shivering and her hands are shaking. She is being tormented and cries out, ‘why are you doing this?’
