Extended Summary

Alf and Ailsa open their engagement present they got from his parents. They got clothes from Rio.

Roo stopped Frank when they were about to have sex. After a while she changes her mind again and they then have sex together.

When Alf comes home, Frank rushes out of Roo’s room and is very worried. Alf says, “I didn’t expect to see you here”.

Frank tries to act innocent. Frank realises he hasn’t got his shoes on. Roo has them. She will make Alf realise that they had sex together. She ruffles her hair with her hands and rushes out with Frank’s shoes to the living room where Alf and Frank are. She says, “You forgot these, Frank!”

Alf realises they must have had sex together and gets very angry with Frank.

Alf yell at Frank for a long time. Frank tries to justify what they did by saying that they are not kids and so on. Alf is very angry and fires Frank from his job at his store. Roo feels very bad for setting Frank up like that.

Tom and Pippa argue more because of what she can’t say about Danny. Sally hears them arguing again and hates it.

Alf was about to see Ailsa tonight. Ailsa is all dressed up. He phones her and say they can’t see each other tonight. He can’t say what is wrong so she is puzzled of his sudden change of heart.

Sally thinks Tom and Pippa will be splitting up because of their arguments. She is also worried that she might have to move if they do split up. She talks to Lance about it and is emotionally upset. She wants Lance to marry Pippa if they split up so Sally won’t have to leave the Fletcher house!

Frank tells Tom and Pippa that Alf has fired him and that he treats him and Roo like kids.

Sally and Lance sneak outside the front door at the Fletchers’ house when Tom and Pippa are arguing again. She says to Lance, “See, I told you so!”

Tom reads a bedtime story (Cinderella) to Sally. She doesn’t seem really interested in the story at the moment. She asks Tom if he likes her teacher Miss Patterson. He says, “Yeah, she’s a nice lady”. Sally has come up with an idea to try to get Miss Patterson and Tom interested in each other since she is so worried she might have to leave the Fletchers house if Tom and Pippa split up.

Lance tells Pippa that Sally reckons they should get married. Pippa gets very shocked when she hears it! He explains the reason why and why Sally is so worried that Tom and Pippa will split up. Pippa explains to Lance that she and Tom won’t split up or get a divorce.

Tom and Pippa talk things over and they tell Sally that there is no need to worry that they might split up or something like that because that is not going to happen. Sally is very happy about it and has stopped worrying.

Alf talks to Roo about why he got so angry earlier when he found out that Roo and Frank had sex together. He asks, “What if you did get pregnant? Your whole life would be lost”. Roo says, “I know”. Alf and Roo get very sad. Alf says, “You’re too precious to throw your life away”.

When Alf has left her room she says, “I already have!” (Emotional music)
