Extended Summary
Colby arrives at the hospital and is met by Alex. She explains that a patient was brought in with a gunshot wound after being found in the street. She was getting theatre ready when Robbo stormed past her and barricaded himself in. Colby knocks on the door to get Robbo’s attention but Robbo pulls the curtain so he and Lenny can’t be seen through the window. He asks if Jasmine’s alive; Lenny says she was when Des dumped him, but won’t tell Robbo Des’ surname or where they are, saying they’ll kill him. Robbo lays a gun on the table and says so will he. Colby explains to Alex that they think it’s one of the guys who kidnapped Jasmine; Alex realises it was Jasmine who dressed the wound. She says he has sepsis and needs urgent surgery. At the Diner, Alf collects a takeaway from Marilyn, saying no-one felt like cooking. He gets a phone call and doesn’t tell Marilyn who it is. Willow comes in and Marilyn asks about Irene. Willow says the world’s gone mad, with first Jasmine and now this. She worries Jasmine hasn’t been heard from in over a week.
Colby continues trying to get Robbo to listen to him while Alex says Lenny needs urgent treatment. Mason appears; he wanted to talk to Alex about the internship but can see it’s not a good time so says they’ll talk later. Colby tries to convince Robbo that if he lets Lenny die then they’ve got no leads. However, Robbo continues to angrily insist Lenny speak as his condition worsens. At the surf club, Alf approaches John who offers him a free smoothie made mostly of cabbage. Alf finds it disgusting and John says he got them cheap because they were just past the use by date. Alf tells him the committee meeting tomorrow is cancelled but doesn’t give any explanation. Mason arrives and discovers Willow looking out for Alex, who she was meant to have a session with. He tells her about the situation at the hospital; he has worked out that Robbo has taken one of Jasmine’s kidnappers hostage.
Alex asks Colby why he hasn’t called for back-up. Colby is reluctant to do so. He starts to when Lenny arrests but Alex says there’s no time. Robbo hides the gun and then lets the others in; Colby drags him out as Alex and the other staff start resuscitating Lenny. Later, Colby berates Robbo but Robbo retorts that Colby was the same when Chelsea was kidnapped. Alex emerges and says Lenny’s stable but still in a serious condition and needs surgery. She is reluctant to let anyone talk to him but eventually lets Colby (but not Robbo) have twenty seconds. Lenny is still reluctant to talk but Colby says Des dumped him, he owes Jasmine and Colby can get him protective custody. Lenny says they’re at the old power plant. Robbo realises he means Mangrove River and wants to go there but Colby says they rushed in last time and they need to plan.
Mason and Willow are sitting in the surf club, with Willow having left Colby a message. Mason decides they should shut the gym and go have a drink. Up in Salt, Marilyn joins John, having been delayed by having to close up, a call from Raffy and Alf coming in to order a hamper. John muses on Alf cancelling the meeting and Marilyn recalls the phone call. They both make the same deduction about what Alf’s doing tomorrow. Out on the balcony, Willow is staring at her phone, waiting for Colby to call her. Mason jokes that it rings if you stop looking at it. Willow is worried that they won’t see Jasmine again; Mason comforts her.
Robbo is waiting near the entrance of the police station as Colby and other officers emerge from a meeting. Colby tells him that they’ve been looking at maps and the place is like a maze, so they’re going to wait until first light: Lance has people keeping an eye on the place to make sure no-one leaves. Robbo makes to leave, aiming to go there on his own, but two federal officers, with Colby’s agreement, grab him and handcuff him to a cable leading from the office. Next morning, Alf is waiting by the bait shop when John and Marilyn arrive and comment on how smart he looks. Alf asks if they’ve got nothing better to do but Marilyn isn’t working and John points out his meeting was cancelled. They guess Martha is coming and are proved right when she appears. She and Alf greet each other warmly.
Alex arrives at the surf club and is surprised to find Mason running boot camp instead of Willow; she wanted to apologise for missing their session and reschedule. Mason says Willow didn’t turn up but suggests she just slept in, explaining she was worried about Jasmine. Alex offers to go and find her, adding that she hasn’t forgotten Mason’s internship and will talk to him later. She finds Willow on the beach and tells her what Colby found: Jasmine’s alive and he and Robbo know where she is. Willow prepares to wait for news and Alex offers to wait with her. They compare how little sleep they both had.
The police are ready to move out and Colby uncuffs Robbo, who says once they’ve found Jasmine he’s going to deck him. Colby says after that it won’t matter. They join a convoy of police cars heading to the power plant; Colby insists they wait for the signal before he and Robbo lead their party in, communicating in hand signals as they explore the labyrinthine interior. Jasmine is on an upper level with Des; she tries to call out when she sees Robbo but Des claps a hand over her mouth, saying he’ll kill Robbo if she does. Fitz joins them, guessing Lenny blabbed. They decide to head out the back way. Jasmine momentarily breaks free and calls out. Robbo and Colby come running; Des fires at them without hitting them. Jasmine manages to pull free again and runs to the officers; Des and Fitz flee in the other direction. Robbo leaves Jasmine with Colby and chases after them.
