Home and Away Spoilers – Justin is ambushed by the Summer Bay thief!
This week on Home and Away in Australia, Sonny considers an illegal route to speed up his recovery, while Justin falls victim to the Summer Bay crime spree.
Sonny (Ryan Bown) struggled to adapt to life in a wheelchair after he was left with a spinal injury following the events of the 2025 season finale.
He broke up with girlfriend Dana (Ally Harris) shortly after moving into a rehabilitation facility, not wanting to be a burden on her.
He made what was meant to be a brief return to Summer Bay a few weeks later, after Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) planned a day trip from the rehab centre to try and cheer him up.
However, he ended up sticking around after learning about Remi’s (Adam Rowland) brain tumour.
Sonny and Dana eventually reunited, and when Sonny went on to feel some movement in his leg whilst attempting to help Remi who had collapsed in the back yard, it gave him hope that his spinal injury may not be permanent.
After eventually being referred to the clinic of Dr Swan (Brigid Zengeni) – the renowned neurosurgeon who operated on Remi – he began to make improvements, and after one particular trip to the city, surprised Dana by getting out of his chair and standing up.
While Sonny may be making quick progress, his stubbornness is still winning out.
He’s become increasingly fed up of Dana and Remi’s attempts to help him, and has been frustrated by his slow recovery as he rebuilds his lost strength.
After pushing himself too hard at Archie’s first birthday party, he found himself unable to walk up the stairs to Dana and Harper’s (Jessica Redmayne) apartment, just days after moving back in.
So, when John (Shane Withington), Mali (Kyle Shilling) and Lacey (Sophea Pennington) joined forces to re-open Summer Bay fit while Tane (Ethan Browne) continued to recover from his own more recent injuries, Sonny jumped at the chance to sign up.
He’s spent the past weeks pushing himself far too hard, ignoring everyone’s requests for him to slow down.
Last week, he even broke into the gym when he arrived in the morning to find it still locked up.
“He knows in his heart that he’s taken things too far, but he feels like he’s in too deep,” Ryan Bown recently told Aussie magazine TV Week about his decision to break into the gym.
Unfortunately for Sonny, it was the same morning that the surf club garage had been broken into, with a number of tools stolen.
As a result, Sonny found himself an unlikely suspect in the robberies which had been sweeping the bay in recent weeks.
Thankfully, David (Jeremy Lindsay Taylor) eventually agreed that Sonny wasn’t likely to have been the culprit, with Sonny pointing out that he could barely walk, let alone steal the expensive generator and power tools which had gone missing.
Yet this week, it seems Sonny is about to commit another crime as he looks for another way to speed up his recovery.
Dana freaks out when she finds out about Sonny breaking into the gym, but Sonny reassures her that he wasn’t arrested, he was simply “questioned” by the police. He also explains that he’s now got things under control – there won’t be any repeat incidents.
“Sonny lies to Dana about the gym as she thinks he’s pushing himself too hard too quickly,” Ryan continued in his interview with TV Week. “But Sonny is so determined to get back to the old Sonny that he ignores her advice and Tane’s training program.”
However, when Tane finds out about Sonny breaking into the gym, he’s far less understanding than Dana. He realises that Sonny is becoming obsessed with working out and risks seriously injuring himself.
Trying to help him, Tane tells Sonny that he’s reducing his workouts to just one hour a day, and they all have to be supervised.
Sonny’s frustration grows – he’s just trying to get stronger, he doesn’t understand why everyone’s determined to stand in his way.
Soon after, he gets an elicit offer as he runs into a stranger who’s seen his plight, and offers him steroids to help “speed up” his recovery.
Is Sonny about to do something really stupid in his haste to recover?
There’s no word yet on who the stranger is, but we’re expecting numerous new characters to arrive in the near future.
In the next few weeks, we’ll be meeting Beau (Blake Richardson), who’s set to sweep Harper off her feet, and new doctor Amelia Carlisle (Nicole da Silva).

New arrival Beau is a love interest for Harper

Dr Amelia arrives in the coming weeks
Whether either of them will be connected to Sonny’s elicit substances remains to be seen. Read more on the new arrivals.
Elsewhere, David and rookie cop Richie (Rocco Forrester-Sach) continues to investigate the crime wave which has swept the bay in recent weeks.
Last week, Yabbie Creek’s finest began receiving reports of car break-ins, mainly targeting tradies’ tools, but with one outlier – a businesswoman whose laptop was stolen from her car.
Richie was delighted when he was handed his first case and he set about diving into the details.
“David sees this as a good opportunity for Richie to learn, asking him what he would do in this situation,” Jeremy explains to TV Week.
“He can see that he is eager, which brings a new energy to the station, not such a bad thing in his opinion.”
A few nights later, the surf club garage was broken into, with various power tools and a backup generator stolen. Alf (Ray Meagher) was despondent, asking “what sort of low mongrel’d rob this place?”
This week, Justin (James Stewart) becomes the next victim of the crimes, as his van is stolen!
He starts the week in a positive mood as he and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) enjoy a romantic picnic on the beach, but talk soon turns back to his new mobile mechanic business, which is struggling after an initial flurry of customers.
Justin was forced to set up the business after the building housing his garage was condemned, and landlord John failed to inform him until he arrived one morning to find the place locked up.
John tried to make it up to Justin by helping him get a website for the business off the ground, and calls soon started coming in. But now they’ve dried up.
With Leah’s help, they make some tweaks to the website this week, and Justin soon gets a call out for some roadside assistance.
As he arrives at a remote road in search of the broken down vehicle, he’s surprised to find the road empty.
With zero bars of signal, he gets out of his freshly branded vehicle – the former Lyrik van – and walks down the road in search of reception.
However, a hooded figure comes out of nowhere, rushes towards the van and jumps in. Before Justin can do anything about it, the crook drives off, leaving Justin stranded!
Who is the Summer Bay thief? And, as the drama escalates in the coming weeks, who will end up being shot?
