5 Emmerdale Spoilers as Charity and Dr Todd have a final showdown

Next week on Emmerdale, Billy and Dawn plan an escape, Ruby has a proposal for Kev, Dylan seeks help, and is Dr Todd about to breathe her last?

1) A final showdown for Charity and Dr Todd?

Charity’s (Emma Atkins) ordeal with Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) looks to reach a deadly climax next week, after the doctor turned up unexpectedly at Jacob’s Fold.

Todd’s surprise return came at the end of this week’s episodes, shortly after Charity found the strength to attend another support group meeting.

Charity had previously walked out of a session after feeling that her experience was different from those of the other survivors, as her attacker was a woman. However, she returned and finally opened up about the guilt and shame she’d been carrying since Todd raped her.

Feeling as though a weight had been lifted, Charity returned home and told Mack (Lawrence Robb) that she was ready to make a fresh start.

Unbeknownst to Charity, Todd had also arrived back in the village after bumping into Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) during a training day in Sheffield and agreeing to have lunch.

Todd drove Manpreet home after she’d had too much to drink, and watched from her car as Charity headed into Jacob’s Fold. She then faced an angry confrontation with Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick), who branded her a rapist and warned that their battle wasn’t over.

Unfazed by Vanessa’s accusations—and with Charity’s confidant Serena (Casey Al-Shaqsy) listening from nearby—Todd pointed out that neither the police nor the CPS had believed Charity’s account of what happened.

Todd drove off, but then went on to let herself into Jacob’s Fold, leaving Charity frozen in horror as she realised that her abuser was standing inside her home.

When the story continues on Sunday, an empowered Charity refuses to be intimidated and orders Todd to leave.

Todd won’t go quietly, instead attempting to goad Charity and threatening to take legal action against her.

Charity demands that Todd finally admit what she did, but the doctor soon reaches for the one weapon that has repeatedly allowed her to control her.

Todd threatens to tell Sarah (Katie Hill) the truth about baby Leyla’s parentage, knowing that Charity remains terrified of destroying her granddaughter’s family.

As the confrontation intensifies, Charity brands Todd a rapist—unaware that somebody has quietly entered the house and overheard…

Whilst we can’t reveal what happens next, a villager’s life is about to be turned upside down, as Charity desperately clings onto her secret.

Eagle-eyed viewers may also have noticed that Todd returned to the village wearing the same outfit seen in the earlier flash-forward to her death, which takes place on a floor not unlike the one in Jacob’s Fold.

What will unfold, and who else now knows the truth?

2) Dawn and Billy plot to flee Emmerdale

Elsewhere, Billy (Jay Kontzle) leaves Dawn (Olivia Bromley) facing an impossible decision, as he insists that Joe (Ned Porteous) attacked him and urges her to flee the village with him.

After Billy woke from his coma, Caleb (Will Ash) visited him in hospital and admitted that he’d told Joe about Billy’s attempted kiss with Dawn.

Caleb then planted the idea that Joe must have carried out the attack in revenge, before warning Billy that Dawn was still blindly standing by her fiancé.

Billy later summoned Dawn to the hospital and asked her to leave her phone at home so that Joe couldn’t discover their meeting. He then claimed that Joe had been the one to assault him at the depot.

Next week, Billy doubles down on his account. Dawn initially struggles to believe that Joe could have launched such a violent attack, particularly knowing how much it would traumatise the children if the truth emerged.

However, Billy remains adamant that Joe was responsible, claiming that he saw him, and eventually convincing a devastated Dawn that the man she’s preparing to marry put him in hospital.

Dawn immediately blames herself, fearing that Billy was attacked because Joe had learned about their near-kiss.

She also feels increasingly trapped by her pregnancy, aware that carrying Joe’s baby will tie her to him regardless of what she decides about their relationship.

Billy then suggests that they leave Emmerdale together and make a fresh start as a family.

He reminds Dawn that she’d already been preparing to escape from Joe earlier this year, before Joe’s confession over his past crimes persuaded her to remain at Home Farm.

Although Dawn didn’t go through with her original plan, Billy urges her to reconsider now that she knows what Joe is supposedly capable of.

By Tuesday, Dawn has begun seriously considering Billy’s proposal and starts working through the practicalities of disappearing with the children.

Meanwhile, Billy prepares to answer further questions from DS Byrne (Dana Haqjoo) about the attack.

Caleb is hoping that Billy’s testimony will finally give the police what they need to bring Joe down, having deliberately revealed the kiss as part of his plan to provoke Joe into making a mistake.

He’s therefore furious when Billy unexpectedly clears Joe’s name during his police interview.

Once they’re alone, Billy explains that he hasn’t changed his mind about what happened. He claims that protecting Joe is merely a ploy designed to throw him off the scent and prevent him from suspecting that Dawn is preparing to leave.

Billy asks Caleb to help them escape, knowing they’ll need an ally if they’re going to outmanoeuvre Joe and disappear without being stopped.

As the week continues, Billy is determined to put their plan into action, whilst Dawn becomes increasingly excited about the prospect of a new life away from Home Farm. She later takes another major risk by inviting Billy to stay at the house.

With Joe’s stag do taking place in two days, Dawn believes the celebration will provide the perfect distraction for her and Billy to make their escape.

But with the wedding rapidly approaching, can they really get Dawn and the children away without Joe discovering their plan?

3) Kev’s promise to Lewis backfires

Meanwhile, Kev (Chris Coghill) is delighted when Lewis (Bradley Riches) asks to spend some time with him, giving him another opportunity to strengthen their relationship.

When Lewis reveals that he never learned to ride a bike, Kev wastes no time in volunteering to teach him. Lewis is thrilled by the offer, but Kev’s confidence slips as soon as he’s alone.

The reason becomes clear when they meet for the lesson on Friday. Kev attempts to demonstrate the basics, only to expose the fact that he can’t ride a bike himself.

His efforts end with an undignified crash, but Lewis sees the funny side and joins him on the grass.

The pair lie together watching the clouds, enjoying a rare moment in which Kev doesn’t have to fight to earn his son’s trust.

Their peaceful afternoon then takes another turn when Lewis shares some unexpected news. How will Kev react to his announcement?

4) Ruby tries to lure Kev back into crime

But Kev faces a fresh test the same day, as Ruby (Beth Cordingly) tries to pull him back into the criminal world he’s determined to leave behind.

Since returning to Emmerdale, Kev has repeatedly insisted that he wants a new start and the chance to build a genuine relationship with Lewis.

His old friend Steve (Jason Done) recently made a similar attempt, tempting Kev with plans to rob Home Farm and flee to Benidorm.

Although Kev briefly agreed when he thought his relationship with Lewis was beyond repair, he ultimately backed out after being given another chance with his son.

Ruby now approaches him with a plan to steal a delivery connected to Jimmy’s (Nick Miles) new haulage contract.

However, Kev refuses to become involved, leaving Ruby frustrated as he makes it clear that he won’t risk undoing the progress he’s made.

Will Ruby accept his refusal—or find another way to involve him?

5) Dylan opens up about his continuing trauma

Also next week, three months on from the trial over Ray’s (Joe Absolom) death, Dylan (Fred Kettle) admits that he’s still struggling to cope with everything he endured.

On Thursday, he opens up to April (Amelia Flanagan), who encourages him to consider counselling.

Dylan receives further encouragement from Bear (Joshua Richards) the following day. Having benefited from professional support himself, Bear urges Dylan not to keep everything bottled up and to reach out for help.
