Vogue Does Home and Away

If you’sre an Irish viewer and you missed last night’ss Vogue Does Home and Away, you can watch it on RTE Player.

The special behind the scenes show, fronted by Australian model and soap addict Vogue Williams, celebrates 25 years of Home and Away in Ireland and looks at the massive impact the show has had on the country since it first aired.

The trailer sees Vogue chat with cast members including Kate Ritchie, Dan Ewing and Emily Symons, explore the sets and outdoor locations that make up Summer Bay, and try her hand at surfing on Palm Beach.

Home and Away first hit screens in 1988. In an interview with the Irish Independent, Vogue discusses why she thinks it has been such a hit with Irish audiences: “I think it’ss because of the beaches and stuff – it’ss a life we’sre not used to. It sort of takes you in. Plus, the people in Oz aren’st dissimilar to the Irish. We like doing the same things and we can see ourselves being able to live there.

“The great thing about the beach they use in ‘sHome & Away’s is that they can’st kick you off it, so there were always tons of Irish people on it all the time.”

Vogue does Home and Away aired in Ireland on Thursday 14 November at 9.55pm on RTE Two.
