TVNZ have confirmed that Home and Away will begin airing on TV2 in New Zealand from 19th August.

The show currently airs on TV3, but that channel lost the rights to the show when its parent company, MediaWorks, went into receivership last month.

TV2, already home to Neighbours, UK soap Coronation Street and medical drama Shortland Street, will air Home and Away every weeknight at 5:30pm as of 19th August. It will also screen repeats the following day at 11am, as well as an omnibus edition on Sunday afternoons.

Episodes will also be available on TV2’ss Ondemand service.

TVNZ chief Jeff Latch commented, “We’sre delighted to give Home and Away fans what they want with this fantastic weeknight timeslot.

They won’st miss an episode as the first-rate storylines continue on TV2 from August 19.”

Meanwhile, TV3, who called the cancellation of its Home and Away contract “regrettable”, has announced that Jamie Oliver’ss 15 Minute Meals will take over the 5:30pm weekday slot previously held by the Australian soap.
