Home and Away lands 5 Logie nominations

In case you’sd missed the news (we’sre a little late reporting it), Home and Away has been nominated for 5 awards at this year’ss Logie Awards.

The show, now in its 26th year, has been nominated for the coveted ‘sMost Popular Drama Series’s award, alongside House Husbands, Offspring, Packed to the Rafters and Puberty Blues.

As well as its nomination for Australia’ss most popular drama, the show’ss actors have been nominated for four awards – with Steve Peacocke, who plays Darryl Braxton, up for both ‘sMost Popular Actor’s and the Gold Logie ‘sMost Popular Personality on TV’s.

Meanwhile, Will McDonald, who plays Jett James, has been nominated for ‘sMost Popular New Male Talent’s, while Catherine Mack, who plays Natalie Davidson, is up for ‘sMost Popular New Female Talent’s.

All of the ‘sMost Popular’s awards are voted for by the Australian public, and voting closed on 10th February 2013. However, Home and Away failed to pick up any nominations in the ‘sOutstanding’s categories, which are voted for members of the Australian TV industry.

Home and Away is currently the most successful programme in Logies history, having won 38 awards since 1988.

The Logie Awards will air on Nine on 7th April.
