Dan Ewing raises money for SIDS after H&A storyline

Spurred on by the Home and Away storyline that saw his character Heath Braxton lose his son, Dan Ewing is raising money to support research into SIDS – or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Dan and his wife Marni held a fundraising event at the Sette restaurant in Eveleigh on Tuesday (26th March). They were joined by a whole host of Aussie celebrities and Home and Away cast members to raise awareness for the condition. Dan told The Telegraph: “It is about raising awareness. Money is great but it is also important to raise awareness.”

Last season saw Heath Braxton, played by Dan, lose his son Rocco to SIDS in a heartbreaking storyline. “Carrying a small white coffin is something no parent should have to do,” Ewing told The Telegraph.

“I had to do it and it was for television. I never want to do it again and I don’st even like watching the episode.”

Dan and Marni were joined by Andrew Morley (Spencer Harrington), Lincoln Younes (Casey Braxton), Lisa Gormley (Bianca Scott), Nic Westaway (Kyle Braxton) and Teri Haddy (Rosie Prichard), as well as a number of other big Aussie names. Ewing will host a similar event in Melbourne in June.
