Kip Gamblin and Rebekah Elmaloglou, who played Scott Hunter and Sophie Simpson in the show, are joining the rival soap as husband and wife Brad and Terese Willis, who descend upon Ramsay Street later this year with their teenage son and daughter.

Kip becomes the third actor to play the part of Brad Willis. He made his first appearance as Benjamin Mitchell in 1989, before returning 2 years later played by Scott Michaelson. Brad remained on Ramsay Street for 2 years before departing in 1993.

Digital Spy reports that the pair will begin filming in 2 weeks. They are due to appear on Australian screens in June, making their debut in the UK three weeks later.

Richard Jasek, Neighbours’s executive producer, announced that the show is moving their focus back to family units, commenting that “the dynamics this offers in terms of storylines is fantastic.”

“As viewers will find out shortly, the Turners are a family of secrets, and the unique backstory of the Willis family is just as compelling.”

Kip Gamblin played Scott, the oldest of five Hunter children, from 2003-2005. Rebekah Elmaloglou played teenager Sophie Simpson from 1990 until 1993, and has returned to the show on a number of occasions basis between 2002 – 2005.
