Eli Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 I thought it was lovely, and I absolutely loved Kate's dress! My friend (who's a monarchy enthusiast, in lack of a better expression ) invited me and some other friends over to watch it with him, and he had made a cake and cucumber sandwiches and tea and everything, so we felt very british there for a while and then suddenly he says "oh, and by the way, in about ten minutes there will be a reporter here from the national radio station. They want to interview us about the fact that we're celebrating the wedding!" So I went from thinking I was gonna sit back, watch tv and eat cake for a few hours to preparing to talk about how we celebrated the event with champagne on national radio Luckily I didn't have to say anything, so I was just cheering in the background with the rest of the people. Very weird day!
HighwayUnicorn Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 I'm not actually a royalist but I have always loved Kate & William as a couple. They seem so genuine & so in love. They have been together for so long so it seemed fitting that they got married because they knew each other so well. The wedding was just beautiful. I was up at half past seven in the morning so as I could watch the whole thing. Kate's dress was absolutely stunning ... simple & plain, yet so delicately fitted to her frame. & I just loved the gestures between the two of them as well ... there's reports in the newspapers whereas lip-readers have confirmed what they have said to each other. When they looked at each other in the abbey, when William said that Kate looked beautiful, when kate asked him if he was happy & Willaim said he was proud she was his wife. It was such a genuine, romantic, very well prepared wedding (I am so proud to say I am British). I can see Kate being a little bit like Diana, only now, thank goodness, Kate is more prepared, having known William for a long time & aware of the press issues. But she's like Diana in so many ways. Calm, genuine, elegant, etc. I don't believe in heaven, but if there is life after death, I'm positive that Diana would have been very proud of & happy for her son.
MeganSaturday Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 It was such a lovely wedding. I liked how it wasn't too over the top and all-singing-all-dancing. I just get very excited about anything to do with the Royal Family (apart from Parker-Bowles). Dianna would have been so proud. Kate Middleton was a very beautiful bride, the dress was fantastic. & it was so good that they managed to keep the designer under wraps until the day of the wedding. It must be so weird for her family watching her becoming a member of the British Royal Family having been brought up in a tiny village. I hope they have a long and happy life together.
LauraPhilly!! Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 I am practically obsessed with the British Royal family! Going centuries, I can trace the roots of the Royal family! I have a passion for British history! I thinks its just fascinating! The wedding was absolutely amazing! I was glued to it the entire day! The whole ceremony was simply stunning! The music was absolutely fantastic! Gave me goosebumps at moments! Of course Kate's dress....I was just like O M G! It was absolutely stunning!! The lace was soooo beautiful, and the tiara set off her wedding veil beautifully! Of course Kate herself is absolutely stunning, so I knew she would look amazing no matter what she wore! Pippa Middleton! Wow, everyone is practically obsessed with her now! I feel rather sorry for the poor girl! I really don't think she expected it at all! The official wedding photographs were absolutely stunning too! Kate's natural beauty absolutely amazes me! She just looks so stunning all the time! This photo is my absolute favourite! It less formal than the other two but none the less adorable! All the flower girls and page boys gathered around Kate and William, who look really relaxed and happy" Simply adorable!
Zetti Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 I am not a royalist either but I love William and Kate. They are so cute together! I wish them all the best in the future x
TelephotoMarigold Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 ^^ The spelling of her name is Diana. Apart from the hymn Jerusleum I didn't recognise any of the music. The reading by James Middleton seemed ok. Some expert on Ch.4 seemed to think that hte sermon by the Bishop of London could have been better, which I suppose it could have been if the fact I can't remember much if any of it is an indication. As for her dress I am in the minority in that I thought it was boring. She could have done something spectacular for her dress and instead chose something plain in a shape that was similar to most of the clothes she's been photgraphed in. The same with her hair, she always wears it down it would have been nice if she'd done something different with it. I also felt that the dress Pippa wore as Chief Bridesmaid didn't blend in with other bridesmaid dresses. It's also weird that it was another white dress. Overall I felt that the media coverage spoiled it for some people by giving them the sense that it was overhyped. The coverage on BBC 1 was better than ITV. Channel 5 showed the movie version "William and Kate" before the wedding and repeated it on the day. Which although was a fictionlised story of how they met seemed to let people see the private side of their romance. I felt there were a lot more people in london than was expected.

About the official photograph, the family one, why did no one sort out James Middleton tie?
