Axle Whitehead's love for his lady Lisa Gormley The Daily Telegraph November 26, 2010 12:00AM HE has been a Cleo Bachelor of The Year who exposed himself on national television during the 2006 ARIA awards, but now Axle Whitehead has followed a tried and true Home And Away tradition by falling for a co-star. For the past two years the former Australian Idol contestant has played come-and-go character Liam Murphy, occasional on-screen lover of Bianca Scott, played by NIDA graduate Lisa Gormley. While their on-screen romance has degenerated, the real-life actor and actress have fallen for each other big-time based on some serious PDA-ing. Confidential saw the pair looking every bit a passionate couple - and then some - at The X Factor final at Fox Studios on Monday night. Whitehead, 30, and Gormley, 26, were surrounded by Seven Network executives including big boss and programmer Tim Worner but were more than comfortable to show they were an item. "They looked very, very cosy and were obviously enjoying each other's company at the finale," another observer said. "They have worked with each other this year but what was a friendship has ignited into something else." Show insiders confirmed the pair are "very happy". On-screen the couple has separated since the arrival of Bianca's former partner, played by Richard Brancatisano. The two are due to marry in the 2010 finale tonight but not if Whitehead's character can stop them. The relationship is not the first for the soap: Isabel Lucas and Chris Hemsworth were an item, as were Beau Brady and Bec Cartwright. It doesn't even mention Axle in the article....Why would she be looking for another man so soon after the split anyway? I just hope it doesn't lead to someone leaving the show (thinking Axle more) because of a bad or not so bad break-up... Real life couples that end up splitting always ends up with someone leaving the show. Thanks Dan
