Red Ranger 1 Posted August 13, 2009 Report Share Posted August 13, 2009 Hmm.To be honest, I'm not sure what to make of that.The ending, with Nicole too late to get back with Aden, worked, I thought(even if it maybe wasn't what I was hoping for...).I liked Aden opening up to her only for her to be unable to handle it and Aden's farewell to Belle was nicely understated, I can see it being like that.I think the problem might be that bit at the start.On the one hand, it's a good idea:We know right from the start how things worked out between Aden and Nicole and that informs the way we see their final moments together.But it possibly crams a bit too much informatiun in;we're told that Nicole got back with Geoff and Aden ended up with someone else but that's it, we don't know if they're happy or if they've just settled for second best.That could be considered a good thing, since it leaves the reader to make their own mind up, but I found it slightly unsatisfying.
