Extended Summary

On the balcony at Salt, Remi complains about the mixing desk being held up at customs. Sonny tries to talk marketing, saying they’ve got Eddie more social media followers but there’s no music content, so they should film it at a gig to help with the launch. Remi is more concerned about whether there’ll be a launch. Justin arrives as Sonny is leaving and asks him if he’s heard from Leah today. Sonny says he’d have called him if he had.

Sonny heads back to the Diner flat to find Bree and Dana clearing up after the party. They explain that Bree has got the personal alarms added and been offered her dream job. On hearing it’s Doctors Without Borders and realising it’ll be overseas, Sonny says people will miss her. Bree goes out to get a pizza. Sonny notes Remi won’t like that but Dana thinks it’s none of his business. She asks if Leah got hold of him, explaining about her turning up looking for him.

With Leah and David looking on, Lacey makes her statement saying Wendell’s actions had a devastating effect on her family and her mother and boyfriend were taken from her. She says that her sister has PTSD, her father is still grieving and her family fell apart and she didn’t speak to them for some time. She says then she met Theo, who was kind and cool and saved her life more than once, and she had to watch him run down by the same man that killed her mum.

Sonny finds a child’s sock. Dana hopes it’s Archie’s and says she’ll give it back to Harper next time she sees her, although she’s not sure when that will be since she hasn’t heard from her since she went to see their mum. Sonny doesn’t answer and admits he’s thinking about Leah. He says he told Justin he’d let him know if she got in touch and thinks he should go over there. After querying it, Dana agrees if he thinks he should.

David and Leah both compliment Lacey on what she said. David invites Leah to go, saying to start with her name and her relationship to Theo. Leah starts, saying Theo’s her nephew, then correcting it to he was her nephew. She ends up breaking down in tears and rushing out. At the Morgan house, Sonny tells Justin about Leah trying to contact him. Justin doesn’t know what it was about since Leah wasn’t there when he got home. Leah comes home upset and manages to tell them about not doing the victim impact statement. Sonny goes to leave and Leah asks him to stay. Justin suggests that Dana’s expecting him but Sonny ends up agreeing.

Next morning, Dana is on the beach, texting Sonny asking if she’ll see him this morning. Bree arrives back from a surf and queries Sonny not coming home last night. Dana says they know where he was but admits it’s weird and unhealthy, yet also thinks Leaj’s going through hell. They see Remi running and Dana asks if Bree is going to talk to him. Bree says she’s not sure what to do yet.

Leah has cooked Justin a big breakfast. Sonny appears from one of the bedrooms and Leah gives him another breakfast and hot sauce. She remembers it was Theo that liked that and Sonny says he’s got good taste. Leah convinces Justin to go to his counselling session, saying Sonny’s there. Sonny agrees it will take him a while to get through the breakfast.

Up in Salt, Bree and Dana look over a pros and cons list. The pros are living her dream and helping the less fortunate, the cons are that they’ll miss each other. For pros Bree adds that she’ll be out in the field, giving something back, learning a lot and it’ll be life-changing (in capitals). Dana asks when she has to give her answer by and Bree says the intake is in Belgium in two weeks. Dana notes she seems to be leaning towards applying. Remi enters and Dana says Bree has some exciting news. Bree just tells him about the alarms and Dana says they’re lucky to have her for as long as they do. Remi leaves, bemused, and Dana says he’ll notice if she moves to the other side of the world. Shortly after, Bree joins Remi out on the balcony and tells him she’s been invited to apply at Doctors Without Orders and it’s basically a job offer. Remi congratulates her.

Leah says she likes looking after Sonny because it reminds her of when Theo lived there. She notes that Theo threw himself in front of a car and she can’t even sit in front of a camera for him. Sonny says Wendell will still go to jail without the statement, but wonders if she’d regret not doing it, offering to go with her.

Leah and Sonny head round to the beach house where Leah explains to David and Lacey. Sonny sends a text to Justin about where they are. Leah introduces herself to the recording and recalls how Theo had a hard upbringing and when he turned up on her doorstep she had to help him and she watched him become a man and was proud of him. She says that a hole’s been torn in her heart, she’s always going to wonder if she could have protected him more and been kinder to him that night, and she’s been going out of her mind looking for someone to blame, but the only person that is to blame is Wendell.

Justin greets Leah and Sonny when they arrive back at the Morgan house. Leah thanks Sonny before going to freshen up. Justin also thanks Sonny who heads off to find Dana. Justin finds Leah crying in the bedroom and tells her he’s proud of her and Theo would be too. Meanwhile, Sonny finds Dana outside the surf club. He suggests a romantic night but Dana says she has a shift and has to go home to change. She says she’ll text him on her break. Remi appears and Sonny realises he’s heard about Bree’s job offer. Remi says he always thought he and Bree would have another go, if he redeemed himself with the record label and they were both still around. Sonny thinks it won’t happen now.

Remi goes to Bree’s flat and tells her that he is happy for her but doesn’t want her to go. He asks her what about them. Bree says there is no them. Remi says there could be if she stays.
