Extended Summary

Cash is on the phone to Tane outside the house, checking he’s sure and telling him to have a good time. Abigail drops Eden across the road and she jokingly offers him a lift. Abigail gives her some rubbish to throw away and Eden thanks her for coming on the trip with her. At the hospital, Levi tells Bree he wants to have a baby with Mackenzie but he’s worried about how single-minded she is, especially if they don’t get pregnant straightaway. Bree suggests it’s early days and things will settle down. She notes Remi is working late so suggests they go for a drink.

Outside the surf club, Eden confirms to Cash that Debra and Jimmy are getting on well now. Cash asks if she’s going to invite him to the wedding but quiets her as Harper approaches with Archie. Harper asks if she can wait at his place for Tane. Cash says Tane’s in Japan. Harper is astonished and furious that he went without her.

At the Diner, Dana tells Irene that she’s got an alert about the position with Levi’s cardiothoracic unit. She recalls that he once said she’d be a good fit there, even though her experience is in emergency and intensive care. Harper comes in with Archie and complains that she can’t talk to Tane because he went to Japan, explaining to Dana about calling the holiday off. She asks her to keep an eye on Archie and storms out, nearly colliding with Jo. Irene recognises the latter as the new sarge’s daughter. Dana introduces herself and explains Harper’s her sister and Archie’s her nephew. Jo coos over the latter.

At Salt, Levi thanks Bree for her help and notes he’s going to start interviews tomorrow. Abigail appears and says Eden understands Debra has forgiven Jimmy and Debra congratulated him on the car. Bree wonders why she doesn’t have a brother like that. Levi gets a call from Mackenzie summoning him home and suspects Bree is enjoying how awkward it is.

At the Lyrik house, Cash argues that Tane was fully checked in and his bags were on board but Eden doesn’t think he should have left Harper to look after Archie alone. He asks about inviting her dad to the wedding. Eden puts off the question, first saying it’ll take Cash months to write a speech and then going to get the parmesan.

Dana asks Jo if she’s been to the lighthouse yet, saying it’s a great view even if you can die on the way up. Irene interrupts, suggesting Dana goes and checks on Harper, who has gone to put Archie down. Jo says she needs to go anyway to update her CV for a job. She and Dana quickly realise they are both nurses and both going for the cardiothoracic job and conclude the best woman should win.

Next morning, Dana is accompanying Harper as she pushes Archie through a park and complains about Tane and how they’re supposed to be doing this together. When she looks to Dana for a response, Dana points out that Harper has been talking at her all day and all night and she’s trying to do interview prep. Harper shows an interest for a few seconds before deciding to call Tane again.

Dana arrives at the hospital, practicing interview questions and laughing. She runs into Bree, who realises she’s there for the interview and wishes her luck. She joins Levi, who notes he already knows she functions well under pressure so suggests they test her cardiothoracic knowledge. He asks her about cardiogenic shock. She lists the symptoms hypertension, tachychardia and shortness of breath (there are three more, only one of which she manages to get with prompting), before admitting she doesn’t know much about the subject but is a fast learner.

Outside the surf club, Cash suggests Eden decide whether or not to invite her father to the wedding. Eden says she’s decided he should decide. Cash insists it’s her decision. Abigail appears and asks if they were talking about their dad. Eden tries to deny it but Cash says they were and Eden threatens not to invite him to the wedding either. Abigail thinks she wants to invite him but won’t admit it.

Dana runs into Jo as she exits and they exchange some friendly rivalry banter. Bree appears and Dana introduces her and Jo to each other. In the interview, Jo confidently answers Levi’s question about symptoms and causes, saying she was a cardiac nurse at Greenwood and has moved there for family. She says she has a dad, then seems about to say more before saying it’s just him. She gets teary and goes to leave but Levi stops her, saying it was just small talk.

Cash is finishing his run outside the house. Eden joins him and says she’s decided they should get married in six months. She’s also started the guest list but there’s only one name on it: Her father. Cash jokingly suggests her dad could walk her down the aisle and they debate whether Cash can give her a hug while he’s sweaty.

Levi tries to calm Jo down. She explains that her mum died a few years ago and her dad has never dealt with his grief. He was just transferred to Yabbie Creek police and she’s his only support system so she has to be there with him. Levi suggests he check her referees and get back to her. At Salt, Abigail asks Dana how her interview went. Dana says she didn’t know all the answers but is hoping her charm got her through and wonders if Levi prefers experience or personality. Abigail gets a text from Eden asking her to meet her. Dana joins Harper, who ignores her getting her a juice and complains that Tane’s screening her calls. She says that if he’s moved on, she will too: She’s going to go back to work and put Archie in daycare. Dana points out Harper hasn’t asked her about the interview.

Abigail and Levi turn up at Eden’s place, wondering what the emergency is. Eden says she’s decided to invite Jimmy to the wedding. Abigail hugs her and says he’s proud of her, but when prompted, Levi says he thinks it’s a terrible idea, Meanwhile, Dana runs into Jo at Salt. Jo says the interview was fine until Levi asked a personal question and she had a breakdown. Dana says she was fine with the personal questions, it was the hypotheticals that troubled her. She offers Jo a drink.

Levi and Abigail trail Eden out of the house, with Cash also coming over. Eden says Levi has been trying to get her to make good with their dad for years and calls her an idiot when she tries. Levi says he didn’t but they haven’t though it through, while Abigail accuses him of liking having a different opinion. Cash cuts through the shouting with a whistle and calmly asks what’s going on.
