Episode 8485

Dana walks away from Harper outside the surf club, refusing to listen to her further. Harper insists she’s just looking out for her while Dana thinks Harper’s trying to control her. Harper thinks Dana has already fallen for Sonny. Dana walks away as Tane appears with Archie’s pram. Harper asks how she’s going to get through to Dana, and Tane suggests explaining the situation to him before he answers.

At the Diner flat, Theo questions how Lacey’s there while Sonny has his head in his hands. Lacey explains she’s not in police protection anymore since she’s withdrawn her statement. Sonny points out that means it comes down to Theo’s evidence. Lacey thinks she’s safer there with the security. Theo is happy for her to stay and Lacey admits she’s not sure where else she’d go.

Down in the Diner, Irene comments on Leah constantly checking her phone. Leah is expecting a call or text from Theo thanking her for the food. She talks to Justin about how hard she’s finding it. Justin reminds her that they agreed to give Theo some space and play the long game. At the Parata house, Tane is cradling Archie while Harper frantically searches for something and says she’s not going to swoop in and save Dana this time. Tane realises she’s looking for the wrap that he has over his shoulder and tries to convince her Dana’s learnt from her mistakes. Harper isn’t convinced.

Sonny is texting while Lacey is finishing off the food and notes Leah won’t be happy she’s eaten it. Theo says he’s not really talking to Leah at the moment. Sonny wonders if Gage really is likely to leave it if Lacey isn’t testifying. Lacey says she hasn’t had any threatening messages and they recall that the River Boys have backed off and stopped following Cash. Sonny gets a text from Dana, saying she’s on the beach. He decides to go and meet her and take a bodyguard with him. After he’s gone, Theo tells Lacey there’s something he’s been waiting to do and kisses her.

Sonny heads down the beach with bodyguard Matthias following him at a discreet distance. Diesel and the other two walk across the headland behind them. Sonny sits down next to Dana, who is shocked to see him there and worries it’s not safe. She belatedly says it’s good to see him and tells him about the run-in with Harper. Sonny gets a text from the police prosecutor saying the case has been brought forward to tomorrow: He’s not sure if it’s good or bad. Diesel watches them through a telescope.

Theo and Lacey are curled up on the sofa but he notes he’d better get up. She helps him into a rather painful sitting position. Lacey feels guilty about him ending up in hospital and says that, when he said he wanted them to be together, it was what she wanted too. Theo tells her he loves her and they kiss. At the surf club, Harper has filled in Tane. She says he doesn’t have to get involved but Tane says they’re still family even if they’re not together. Sonny and Dana come in (with Matthias) and Tane and Harper intercept them. Tane thinks it’s dangerous for them to be together and one bodyguard isn’t going to help if ten River Boys show up. Sonny admits he has a point and tells Dana they should keep their distance until after the court case tomorrow. He and Matthias leave. Dana refuses to talk to Harper and heads upstairs.

Sonny arrives back at the flat and tells Theo and Lacey about the court case being tomorrow. He’s spoken to Cash, and with Lacey not testifying, the DPP have decided to go ahead before they lose another witness. Lacey tells Theo she’ll be with him. At Salt, Diesel approaches Dana at the bar and tries to get her to let him buy her a drink. She says she’s seeing someone and he guesses it’s Sonny. She notices he has a Blood and Sand tattoo and he says her boyfriend had better keep his mouth shut.

Harper is planning to wait for Dana to come downstairs and try again, but moments later Dana appears, being hassled by Diesel and his friends. Tane sends Harper back into the gym with Archie, then intercedes. Diesel tells Dana to tell Sonny he said hi. Tane tells Diesel to get out and tells Dana he’s making this his business.

Sonny gets a phone call from Dana about it and notes the River Boys haven’t backed off, and Harper and Dana are staying with Tane for the night. Matthias tells Theo there’s someone out there claiming to be his uncle. Justin calls out and says he’s just there to deliver a message: The police have finished with his car. Theo isn’t sure if he wants to see it again and Justin says he’s had it delivered to the garage until Theo decides what to do with it. Theo asks him to bring him a suit for the court case. Justin agrees and says he’ll sort Sonny too. Lacey comes in and Justin is aghast. Theo tells him to go.

Irene and Leah are closing up the Diner. Justin comes down and says Theo had mixed feelings about the car. With a bit of pushing, he says the court case is tomorrow but he doesn’t think Theo is coming home because he’s up there with Lacey. Meanwhile, Harper and Dana arrive back at Tane’s. Dana suspects Harper’s going to say “I told you so”. Tane checks they’re okay to share Perri’s room and goes to set up a bassinet for Archie. Dana asks if it’s strange sleeping there but not in Tane’s room. Harper admits it is a bit but they’re supporting each other.

Next morning, Justin reluctantly keeps his distance as Lacey helps Theo with his tie. Sonny has also changed into a suit. Theo thanks Justin for bringing them over but declines him joining them. Dana turns up and says she’s going with them to have Sonny’s back. She and Lacey meet for the first time. Meanwhile, Tane is cradling Archie. Harper comes in and wonders what’s happened to Dana. Tane thought she was still asleep with Harper. Harper realises she’s gone to see Sonny.

Theo, Lacey, Sonny and Dana are escorted to the car by Matthias and another bodyguard. Sonny says he’s glad Dana is there while Theo is hoping they’ll never have to think about Gage again after today. As they drive off, Diesel is in a nearby car with two more thugs, talking to someone on the phone and agreeing that no-one can testify. He drives off after the other vehicle.
