Extended Summary

Mali has just finished a class on the beach. Kirby joins him and tells him she will do the photo shoot. After Mali has gone, John pulls up in his buggy. Kirby tells him about the ad campaign. John wishes her luck in a tone that implies he thinks she’ll need it. At the Morgan house, Justin watches for a few seconds as Leah puts their things away, before telling her that it is enough and he accepts that she trusts him. He suggests they consider it the first day of the rest of their lives. What he says seems to click with Leah and she suddenly rushes off, asking him to finish the unpacking.

Levi, Eden, Abigail and Tim are sat around the rotunda. Abigail says Eden was keen on this before and Tim says this would be with all three of them. Levi suggests Abigail should focus on her own stuff but Tim says the family history is part of her issues. Eden, who has been quiet until now, wonders if it’s going to be everyone having a go at her for what she did as a kid. Tim says it’s not about blame and Levi agrees if it’s what Abigail needs. Later, Tim suggests they break the ice by giving three positive adjectives to describe Abigail. Levi gives bold, engaging and resourceful, which Abigail appreciates. Eden offers kind, resilient and independent but Abigail remains stoneyfaced.

At the surf club, Kirby pushes John to explain what he said. John says that she’ll be the face of Mali’s business: If it goes wrong, she’ll be blamed and if it’s a success, she’ll get all the glory. He gets a text and hurriedly announces he has to leave on urgent business. He passes Mali, saying he apologises in advance. Kirby tells Mali she’ll still do the photo shoot but wants him to do it with her. Mali refuses, leaving her disappointed.

Leah arrives back at the Morgan house with John and Marilyn, the latter carrying a bunch of flowers. Leah tells Justin she’s remembered how beautiful their wedding day was. John adds that the celebrant got a five star review (which Marilyn thinks he wrote himself). Leah explains that she wants them to renew their wedding vows. Meanwhile, Mali approaches Kirby outside the surf club. He wonders why she’s annoyed and she says it would have been nice for him to have thought about it rather than just saying no. Mali asks why it’s important to her and Kirby asks why it isn’t to him, when he wanted it to be real.

Justin and John are getting changed into suits. John worries that he’s never done a vow renewal before and if it’s normal to be doing it after six months. Leah and Marilyn appear, with Leah having got changed. Marilyn is excited, having missed the actual wedding. John tries to take charge but Leah says he and Marilyn are there as witnesses. She prompts Justin to go first with the vows and they call each other soul mates before joking about being kicked out of a pool naked. John and Marilyn look bemused and they tell them they had to be there.

Tim asks Eden to describe her relationship with Abigail. Eden says she thought they got on well but now it turns out Abigail hates her. Levi is shocked that she read Abby’s journal. Eden says it called her dominating and Levi suggests there’s stuff about him too. Abigail offers to show it to him. Tim says that’s not for anyone else but Abigail says it’s up to her who she shares it with and goes to get it.

Justin says he’s not perfect and will make mistakes. Leah says she’ll learn from hers. Justin says he’ll try to be honest and Leah says she’ll try and listen. Marilyn announces he can now kiss the bride and John says that’s his line. Leah says it’s now John and Marilyn’s turn. Marilyn protests that the ship’s sailed and John says it sank. Leah wants them to make a vow to them to hold them accountable and they agree.

Abigail arrives back with the journal and describes Levi as generous, dependable and kind. Levi awkwardly suggests that’s not accurate but Abigail says he was there for her when she needed him. Eden announces she has to go and Abigail accuses her of making it about herself. Eden says she stuck around to pick up the pieces while Levi bailed on them, but he’s the hero and she’s the enemy. Abigail says Levi was honest, while Eden said it was them against the world and then left. Eden says she was just a kid and to feel free to carry on kicking her while she’s not there.

At the Lyrik house, Mali turns up to see Kirby. He says he’s thought about what she said and he will be in the photos with her, since she’s right that he should be the face of his own business. He worries what the ad agency will say but Kirby assures him that he’s the one calling the shots.

Levi, Abigail and Tim have retired to the house. Tim thinks that the session went well; they’ll go over it in their next one-on-one session but Abigail’s made progress. Levi wants to check up on Eden but Tim doesn’t think Abby should be left alone. Levi says Eden’s had a hard time lately so Tim decides to check on her. Tim notes that Eden accusing Levi of walking out on them seemed to get under his skin.

Leah and Justin are relaxing alone, talking about renewing their vows after only six months and how it’s probably in the Guinness Book of Records. Leah says she wanted to put a full stop under the last few weeks. Justin says they should clear up but Leah says they cleared up Theo’s mess so he can clear up theirs and there’s things she’d rather be doing on their wedding night. They head to the bedroom, hanging up a Do Not Disturb sign from the hotel.

Eden is collecting a box from the store room at Salt. She finds Tim waiting at the bar and he explains Levi was worried about her and he wanted to make sure she was okay. Eden admits she’s not. Outside the farm house, Abigail thanks Levi for sticking around. Levi thinks she would have been fine on her own. He says he was the one that left, not because he wanted to be with their dad but because it was easier, and Eden chose to stay: If they’re ever going to move on, a little bit of forgiveness will go a long way.

Eden and Tim are drinking on the balcony at Salt. Tim comments that Eden seems to always want the last word. After joking about the psychoanalysis, Eden admits it’s true but that Tim always seem to have a mature comeback. They look at each other for a few seconds before awkwardly saying their goodbyes.
