Extended Summary

Levi hurries away from the surf club and runs into Eden, who tries to suggest they get a coffee sometime. Levi agrees but is in a hurry. Eden pushes him for details and he says Abby’s in trouble and he has to go and get her. Eden insists on coming with him and he says he’ll fill her in on the way. Meanwhile, Abigail leaves the bathroom and another girl, Judith, goes in. Abigail tries to sneak downstairs but Dom is waiting at the bottom. He shows her up to a room where he has a dress and some fancy shoes laid out and tells her to put them on. He takes her phone and warns her there are bars on the window.

Marilyn serves Dana at the Diner. As Dana is leaving, she runs into John who quietly tries to ask if Harper and Tane are together. Dana says they’re having a baby but anything else is none of his business. After she’s gone, Marilyn makes it clear she overheard, despite John protesting that they were virtually silent. John recalls he’s resolved not to say anything.

At Salt, Justin tells Leah that he’s come up with a way to protect Theo and the garage: He’s going to go to Claudia and admit what happened, since the official investigation will show anyway, and then offer to fix the brakes and any other mechanical damage and pay for any panel beating and medical expenses. He says he’ll send her an e-mail.

Kirby finds Mali outside the surf club and asks how his class went. Mali says it was great until one of the class mentioned the art competition and then no-one would talk about anything else. He tells her not to blab to the customers. Kirby asks why he thinks it’s her and he says it’s always her. Kirby walks away, ignoring him.

Levi and Eden pull into the street in the city. Eden has been filled in and says Levi should have told her. Levi argues that her best friend had just died. He knocks on the door and Dom answers. Levi says he’s there for Abigail but Dom says he doesn’t know anyone of that name and is there alone, before closing the door. Levi tells Eden it’s definitely the right street but he may have got the number wrong, suggesting they knock on all the doors.

Down on the beach, John is making an attempt to question Dana during a shift, wondering if Harper and Tane will be moving in together. Dana says it’s all new to them and they deserve some privacy. She asks to drive the buggy but wanting to do so still isn’t enough to get her to say anything. Meanwhile, Abigail tries to get Dom to let her go, saying she’ll get him the money by the end of the day. She says Levi won’t give up on her. Dom says he already did: He saw a beautiful house on a nice street and drove away. Abigail says if Dom tries to force her, she’ll scream loud enough for the neighbours to hear. Dom says it’ll be the last thing she ever does. He points out it’s been hours since her last hit and he’ll fix her up once she’s done what he wants.

Mali arrives back in the surf club and finds a bunch of balloons with “Congratulations” on them on his counter. He assumes they’re from a customer and wants to bin them but John says they’re from him. Mali blames Kirby for telling everyone. John says he wrote about it in the surf club newsletter he sent out last night and that they want to celebrate him.

Levi and Eden have knocked on every house in the street. Ignoring a message from Mackenzie, Levi suggests Eden call Cash for advice but she refuses. Levi then notices Judith coming out of Dom’s house even though he said he was alone. He goes over and asks what the deal is in the house. Judith says her shift’s over: They’ll have to make a booking with Dom and he’ll charge extra for two of them. The penny drops and they rush to the house, with Levi kicking the door down. Abigail runs downstairs to them. Dom tries to order them out but Levi pins him against a wall as Eden ushers Abigail away. Abigail reclaims her phone from him and says she knew Levi wouldn’t give up on her.

Kirby arrives back at the surf club and says she’ll finish her shift but the way Mali spoke to her wasn’t cool. Mali shows her John’s article. He apologises for assuming it was her and says John has showed him that people just want to show they’re happy for him. He gets her to pose for a selfie with him in front of the balloons.

Levi, Eden and Abigail arrive in a room at the motel. Levi admits he told Eden about the drugs. Abigail admits Dom is her dealer and says she knew what went on in the house but never thought he’d force her to do it, insisting she never would have. Levi sends Eden to get some food while he comforts Abby.

Marilyn gets off the phone from John, having called to see if he’d got more information from Dana, and tells Leah Tane and Harper are having a baby. Justin turns up and says Claudia saw his offer as a bribe to stop her suing the garage and getting Theo’s license taken off him. Leah admits that’s not exactly untrue. Marilyn suggests a face to face meeting might work, like it did with the man threatening to sue the Diner. Justin heads back to the garage where he calls Claudia and gets her to agree to meet up.

Eden has returned to the motel. Levi says they’ll hear what Abigail wants before doing anything about Dom. He notes there’s a lot of secrets in their family and asks Eden why she doesn’t want to call Cash. Eden admits he’s broken up with her but refuses to discuss it further. Abigail returns from the bathroom, dressed in a robe, and Eden says she brought her some clothes and pasta. Abigail says she can’t keep living like this and needs help but doesn’t want to go to a rehab clinic, she wants to go cold turkey. Levi says they’ll stay with her.

Later, Eden questions the decision with Levi, who says this is the first time Abigail has asked for help. Abigail reappears, having got changed. Eden tries to convince her to go to hospital and Abigail argues that’s where Levi works. Eden asks Levi if this is safe. Levi takes Eden out into the corridor and says they need to be on the same page because it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
