Extended Summary

Eden and Felicity walk along the beach, with Eden asking Felicity how she’s coping without Tane. Felicity says she’s enjoying the freedom…and also misses him. Eden understands, noting how she chose to stay with Cash instead of going away with her bandmates. Felicity tries texting Tane. Eden responds by sending Tane a disgruntled looking selfie.

Back at the house, Justin tells Cash there’s nothing on Vita Nova online after Cash searches fruitlessly. Cash recalls that Leah was alone with Margot and might know something. Justin is reluctant to involve her but agrees to call her. Eden and Felicity turn up. After Justin has gone, Eden tells Felicity that Cash cracked a big case while Cash looks awkward.

Near the surf club, Roo asks Alf how many times he’ll stop to fish on the way to Merimbula. Alf says he wants to get up there as soon as possible but does stop to tell John he’s left him more jobs and a committee meeting agenda. He asks Justin about Andrew. Justin gets a call, apparently from Leah. Meanwhile, Eden and Felicity discuss having a card game and shots after dinner. Eden tells Felicity that Cash reunited a missing teenager with his mother and Cash calls it all in a day’s work.He gets a text from Rose saying the task force have an address. He goes out the back to call her but it’s clear she won’t give him the address. Eden comes out and wonders what’s going on. Cash says nothing. Eden guesses he doesn’t want to socialise and suggests they go back to hers after dinner.

At the beach house, Marilyn checks the lock on the bedroom window. Hearing noises, she grabs a pan and jumps out at someone who’s just come in, yelling…only to find a rather shocked Irene. Later, Irene tries to understand that her house looking like a storage unit because it’s the headquarters of the campaign against Stunning Organics. She also asks about the broken window. Roo turns up, with Marilyn again thinking the knocking is an intruder, and explains John told her what’s going on. Marilyn says she’ll go so Irene isn’t in danger. Roo insists on staying with Marilyn.

Cash and Eden arrive at the Lyrik house. Having helped himself to a beer, Cash admits he messed up badly and sent Andrew home with the wrong person: She wasn’t his mother and Cash has been taken off the case. That night, Cash is lying awake. He goes to the police station out of uniform and goes to a computer, searching the database for references to Andrew.

At the compound, Margot finds Andrew huddled under a sheet in what looks like a kitchen. She tells him there’s nothing wrong with admitting you’ve made a mistake and he shouldn’t have left the note for Justin. Andrew protests that he was hungry and his dad didn’t come back. Margot says they’d have come for him. She recalls Leah saying he liked music and says they’ll have to sort that. She plays some loud, cacophonous music, saying it’ll make him strong.

Next morning, Alf runs into Justin by the surf club and says to let him know if he and Leah need anything. Cash turns up and shows Justin a note with Vita Nova’s current address. The task force will look into it but only because Margot lied to the police and won’t go kicking doors down to get him back.

Justin and Cash pull up outside a compound, with a high wire fence. Cash points out a security camera and says they’re going to play nice so they get invited in. A ute pulls up on the other side of the gate, Two rough types get out, one of them wielding a bow and arrow. Meanwhile, Eden goes round to see Felicity, wondering where Cash is, since he was gone when she woke up. Felicity doesn’t know and Eden doesn’t tell her the reason why they bailed on her.

Justin and Cash are greeted by Margot. Cash asks if they should call her Esther or Margot. Margot cheerily says they can call her whatever they like and says Andrew is safer with her. Justin sarcastically says the rest of them will look stupid if the world ends but asks to see Andrew. Margot agrees. When Andrew is brought to them, Justin approaches him, then recalls he doesn’t like being hugged. He tells him Margot isn’t his mother, then realises he already knows. Margot insists they’re his family. Justin tells Andrew about his half-sister Tegan and that Leah misses him but Andrew refuses to go with them. Margot threatens to report them for trespassing and Cash convinces Justin they should go.

Marilyn, Roo and John chat at the coffee cart about Marilyn moving back in. Marilyn says she’s grateful for their support but not to tell Alf. Alf complains about John being there instead of doing the jobs he set him. Marilyn says John can afford time for a coffee now and then. Alf says to call him if they need anything. Later, at the Diner, Irene tells Marilyn and Roo she’s got the window fixed. Marilyn offers to pay but Irene just wants her to get rid of the boxes. Marilyn gets a text about the interview and admits she’s worried about letting people down. Roo says what matters is what Marilyn wants.

At Salt, Eden asks Felicity what she did last night. Felicity says she’s decided to throw herself into work while Tane’s away. Cash and Justin turn up and Eden quietly asks what happened. Cash says the only good news is that they know where Andrew is. Justin gets a call from Theo and tells him “Esther” is not who they thought she was. He says if Theo comes home he’ll tell him everything.
