Extended Summary
Tori is doing yoga in the front room while Christian struggles to get Grace’s shoes on. Justin comes in and thanks them for making themselves scarce while he and Leah celebrated last night: They are going to collect a deposit cheque from the bank when Leah finishes work. He encourages the pair to set a date for the wedding and they tell him they want Grace to be able to walk down the aisle as flower girl. Meanwhile, Jasmine and Willow arrive at the surf club. Jasmine talks about Lewis noticing she’d removed her wedding ring and gushes that he’s kind, considerate and good-looking. Willow jokes that he must be a serial killer. In the office, John is on the phone to Jett asking him to check on Marilyn and eventually admits he served her divorce papers. Susie arrives and says Marilyn took it fine.
However, at the Diner, Marilyn is crying to Leah about the fact John obviously doesn’t respect her. Alf comes in and Leah explains about the divorce papers and Susie serving them. Alf asks Leah to keep an eye on Marilyn. Leah guesses where he’s going and approves. At the surf club, Alf turns up and demands to speak to John. Susie says Alf can say anything he has to say to both of them but John thinks he should listen to Alf alone, so Susie leaves them to it. Alf says John shouldn’t have sent his “floozy” to deliver the divorce papers. John says he isn’t allowed to do it himself and Susie offered, which saved him having to pay someone to do it. Alf says he should have done that.
At the gym, Jasmine is staring dreamily into space and gets teased by Willow, before Lewis comes in. Jasmine sends Willow away and briefly chats to Lewis before going to take a call from her accountant. Willow gets Lewis to help her stack a shelf and talks to him about Jasmine. Back at the Morgan house, Tori tells Justin that Christian’s gone for a swim. Justin is looking forward to getting the contracts signed. Tori reminds him he said he’d never be a slave to a mortgage. Justin reminds her she said she’d marry Prince William. Meanwhile, Christian comes up from the beach as Lewis is helping Willow set things up for a session. Christian notes he hasn’t seen Lewis at work for a while. Lewis introduces him to Willow and she has a brief get-to-know-you with him before carrying on working. Lewis says he’s feeling better now Christian has taken responsibility but Christian says he never said it was his fault, just that he was sorry for Lewis’ loss. Lewis gets angry and asks how many people have to die for Christian to realise he’s not God.
At the surf club, Susie tries to convince John that Alf is just still upset about losing the election. John isn’t convinced though and decides to go and see Marilyn. Susie wants to go with him but John insists on going alone. At the Diner, Leah continues to comfort Marilyn. When John comes in, Leah tries to get rid of him, saying if he wants a coffee she can serve him outside. John wants to see Marilyn though. When she retreats into the kitchen, he asks for his usual table, coffee and a big slice of cake, happy to wait it out.
At the gym, Lewis tries to get Jasmine to join him for lunch. Jasmine still has things to do so Lewis decides to wait outside, asking her to call him when she’s done. Willow tells Jasmine that Lewis had a disagreement with Christian and seemed upset. Back at the Morgan house, Christian has been silent throughout dinner. Tori jokingly asks him if he can remember anything she said. Justin enters, dressed up to meet the buyer, and worries he and Leah might still lose the house. Tori assures him Susie won’t sell it from under them. After Justin has gone, Tori tries to get Christian to talk to her but he goes to check on Grace.
John is still waiting to see Marilyn at the Diner and talking about ordering more. Justin comes in but Leah isn’t willing to leave as things are, despite his worries. Leah convinces Marilyn to be the bigger person and show John the respect he didn’t show her and she agrees to go for a walk with him. Justin comes back from answering a call and tells Leah that their arrangement with the bank has fallen through. Out on the beach, John insists he didn’t mean to hurt Marilyn and didn’t think things through when he got Susie to serve the papers. They accept they’ll always care about each other. Marilyn tries to talk about Susie but John doesn’t want to go into that. He and Alf silently stand together as Marilyn goes back to the Diner.
Justin explains to Leah that the bank have changed their rules on small business owners. Leah thinks they can arrange another loan but Justin thinks by the time they have that in place someone else will have bought the house. Leah suggests they at least talk to Susie and see if she can stall. At the surf club, Willow is comforting a teary Susie. John returns and says he knows Susie was just trying to do the right thing and got caught in the middle. Susie says he was short with her before. John is bemused but reassures her. Susie says she has to sort out some finances for Leah and Justin.
Leah and Justin are sorting through the paperwork they need for the loan application, while Tori and Christian are coaxing Grace into walking. Leah is disappointed that they’ve missed her first steps but jokes that she’ll be causing trouble now. After Leah and Justin have gone, Christian tries to talk about setting a date for the wedding but Tori asks to talk about whatever’s on his mind. At Salt, Jasmine finds Lewis sitting with a large beer and asks him about his run-in with Christian. Lewis says he thought Christian understood but he still won’t accept responsibility. Jasmine suggests Lewis won’t find peace unless he lets it go, saying it’s what both she and Anna would want.
Christian has filled in Tori, who says Lewis holding a grudge isn’t helping anyone. Christian wonders if Lewis is right and he didn’t do his job properly. Tori urges him not to second guess himself. Meanwhile, Lewis has walked Jasmine home. Lewis distractedly prepares to leave, suggesting they have breakfast in the morning. Jasmine kisses him and says she wants him to stay, leading him inside.
