Extended Summary

Irene, Tori, Leah, Jasmine and Justin all end up in the Morgans’ garden which is full of decorations. Justin thinks they overdid it but Jasmine likes it. Christian turns up with the cake and Jasmine quietly comments to Irene about him being considered “family and close friends”. Later, Marilyn turns up and Tori puts her present on the table with others. Irene suggests Jasmine does the same with her present, but Jasmine says she wants to give it to Grace personally. She asks about Grace and Tori says she’s having a nap. Christian goes over to where Justin is sitting and asks about him. Justin says he’s managing with painkillers and Christian says they’ll get him back to hospital once the party’s over. Grace can be heard crying over the baby monitor and Tori goes to see to her. Leah sits with Jasmine and comments that Christian’s a good man and Tori deserves to be happy.

At the caravan park house, Martha asks Roo about her night out with Owen. Roo says it was nice. Martha comments that she came back early and suggests there’s not much privacy. Owen turns up and he and Roo quickly leave. Martha comments that things don’t seem to be steaming ahead between them. Alf thinks it’s none of their business. Roo and Owen walk on the pier with Owen noting he’s considering renting a paddleboard. He asks if there’s anything wrong, since it feels like Roo isn’t that into them. Roo asks if it’s because of the lack of sleepovers. Owen says it’s not, he just needs a sign. Roo hugs him, but doesn’t look too comfortable with it.

Jasmine joins Tori inside the house where she’s getting Grace’s things together. Jasmine asks about giving her the present but Tori is busy getting Grace changed and tells Jasmine to put it on the table with the others. Outside, Leah checks on Justin, who notes putting the swing together took it out of him. Leah says next year they’ll get her a toy or a book. Tori brings Grace out and gets Christian to help her put a bracelet on her with her name engraved. Jasmine looks disappointed and Irene comforts her.

Alf and Martha turn up at the Diner and tell Roo and Owen about Alf’s fishing catch. Martha takes Roo aside and tells her she’s going to Yabbie Creek, Alf’s going to a committee meeting, Marilyn’s at Grace’s party and Ryder’s at TAFE, so the house is free. Although somewhat exasperated, Roo loudly repeats the information to Owen and they leave. Alf accuses Martha of interfering. Martha says she was just giving them a nudge. Roo and Owen arrive back at the house, commenting on how quiet it is. Roo suggests they go upstairs. Owen agrees and jokingly reminds her of his name.

Irene finds Jasmine inside the house. Jasmine notes the bracelet was exactly the same as hers and wonders why she’s even there, thinking Tori’s broken her promise to keep Robbo part of Grace’s life. Irene says Jasmine’s still her step-mum but Jasmine says Grace will never even remember being with her and Robbo. She bins her present. Outside, Christian checks on Justin again before Tori calls everyone together for a speech. She gives Grace to Christian as she talks about all the love and support she’s had over the past year and all the people that couldn’t be there: Brody, Raffy, the Shaws, Mason and Robbo. She says Grace makes her happy and also thanks Christian for the cake. Justin winces and staggers towards the house, which is seen by Leah. Marilyn takes several photos of Tori, Christian and Grace together. Jasmine quietly tells her to stop, saying they’re not a family.

Leah follows Justin into the house and asks if he needs some more painkillers. Justin says they’re not going to help this time: He can’t feel his legs. Shortly after, Justin is being loaded into an ambulance while Leah, Tori, Christian, Irene and Jasmine all watch; Marilyn is looking after Grace. Leah goes in the ambulance with him, with Tori and Christian following on. Tori asks Jasmine to look after Grace.

Shortly after, at the hospital, Christian gets Justin settled and says they’ll arrange a repeat scan. Tori picks up on the term and they admit he was in hospital a couple of days ago. Leah explains he wanted to be at the party. Christian says the inflammation will go down now Justin’s resting. Tori asks to speak to him  and Justin curses his decision. Tori complains to Christian that she’s been having Justin move things about. Christian says he advised Justin not to leave but had to respect his wishes. Tori accepts that and apologises. Back at the house, Marilyn offers to stay and help tidy up but Irene sends her to the Diner and tells Jasmine to focus on Grace. Jasmine admits it feels wrong after what’s happened and accepts Christian’s a good man. She starts chatting to Grace about Robbo. Irene discreetly removes the present from the bin and puts it with the others.

Roo is sat on the steps outside the bait shop while Alf works nearby. Marilyn asks about her and Alf says he and Martha have interfered enough but invites Marilyn to try. Roo tells her that “something” happened between her and Owen and she got his name right, but was thinking about Evan the whole time so said she was going out for coffee. Marilyn advises her to talk to him. Back at the house, Owen interprets her comments as meaning his dead brother’s competition. Roo denies it but says she can’t trust her feelings. Owen asks if it’s over. Ryder comes in celebrating getting top marks on his assignment. Owen congratulates him and then leaves. Ryder asks what he walked in on.
