Extended Summary

Angelo follows Dean out onto the Salt balcony. Angelo says Colby had every reason to kill Ross and he knows Dean’s protecting him. He says he’s heard Dean has a son. Colby and Willow are coming up from the beach and see the two of them talking. Angelo suspects Dean was involved and says if he gives him something he can get him a deal with the DPP. Dean says he doesn’t do deals with cops. Angelo retorts that Colby’s a cop, although he was a River Boy first, and asks Dean if he wants to see his son grow up. Dean says they’re done and walks back inside. Angelo sees Colby watching him. Despite Willow’s warning, Colby decides to go and see what they’re talking about.

Angelo joins Dean at the bar and pays for his drinks. He again tries to get Dean to talk to him while Dean refuses to say that he knows anything. Colby appears and Angelo invites him to join them. Dean abruptly leaves and Angelo follows him. Down in the surf club, Dean runs into Willow but doesn’t tell her what was said and quickly leaves. Angelo watches Willow from the stairs. Seeing him, she quickly puts her bag down and leaves.

At the hospital, Jasmine tells Tori she had fun looking after Grace. Tori is distracted and Jasmine wonders if Tori’s regretting letting her do so. Tori reassures her. Christian turns up looking for his afternoon list and Tori quickly leaves for lunch. At the Diner, Alf tells Leah and Justin he’s taking out a boat that no-one’s hired for a while. Leah guesses he’s taking his fishing gear with him and he says it’d be a waste of fuel otherwise. Justin tries to arrange to go with him but fails to convince Leah that sitting on a boat would be no different to sitting on a couch. Alf notes Martha nags him too but you miss them when they’re not around. Alf leaves as Tori comes in and orders a coffee. She sits with Justin and Leah and tells them she can’t be around Christian because she’s done something dreadful.

Dean and Willow arrive back at the Diner flat. Willow wonders what proof Angelo’s got. Dean doesn’t think he’ll be able to prove anything without his help. Despite this, he’s considering helping Angelo, not sure why he should be punished for something Colby did. Colby enters and says that Angelo is playing Dean. Dean however thinks Colby’s only interested in protecting himself. Colby protests that they’re family but Dean says he’s got an actual son to think about now. A short time after, Colby is continuing to insist it’s a ploy of Angelo’s. Dean knows that but also isn’t happy about Colby’s behaviour, warning him about threatening Ziggy. He walks out. Colby tries to get Willow to talk to Dean but Willow says she won’t stop Dean if he wants to go to the police because the situation’s destroying him.

Leah, Justin and Tori arrive home; the others are somewhat underwhelmed that the terrible thing Tori did was kissing Christian in a lift. She adds that he kissed her in the same lift on another occasion. Leah thinks it means he likes her. Tori blames Justin, saying she was just trying to thank Christian for helping him. Justin tells her to go for flowers or beer next time. Later, Leah tries to convince Tori to go for it with Christian. Tori says she hasn’t got room in her life for a relationship. Leah says she and Justin started off as just a bit of fun, and Justin adds that she realised she couldn’t live without him. Tori determines to go and tell Christian nothing can happen.

Tori arrives at the hospital but is immediately accosted by Jasmine who tells her an MVA’s come in. Ambulance officer Charlie introduces them to Stephen, who was found unconscious and has started responding. Tori orders a C-spine. Christian checks Stephen’s pupils and says to order a head CT as well; there are signs of a cerebral oedema. Later, Christian checks the scan: There’s no fractures but there is swelling. He says to prep Stephen for theatre. Tori says she’ll notify next of kin and Christian says he’ll talk to them post-op. Jasmine notes Tori and Christian make a good team.

Colby approaches Angelo outside the surf club and tells him to stop harassing his family. Angelo says he’s conducting a murder investigation, which Colby has been told to stay out of, and notes Coby’s acting like he’s got something to hide. Inside, Dean finishes a call checking on Amber and Jai. Willow notes he only called half an hour ago. She points out Amber has done okay looking after Jai until now. Colby enters and Dean heads upstairs. Colby complains that he won’t talk to him. Willow tells him about Jai being in hospital and wonders if Colby has even met Jai. She says Colby’s been so busy keeping his enemies close he’s pushed his friends away.

Colby joins Dean on the balcony at Salt and tells him that he should do what he feels he has to do and he won’t stop Dean having Jai in his life. Dean still isn’t keen on talking to Colby. Angelo appears and asks Colby to leave them alone. Dean tells Angelo he doesn’t know anything. Meanwhile, Tori is arriving home. She tells Justin and Leah that she didn’t get to talk to Christian but she thinks that’s a good thing: She’s realised they work well together. Leah encourages her to go and talk to him but Tori says she’ll sort it in the morning and decides to go out for a takeaway (Justin complains that he was only allowed salad). Leah tells Justin she thinks Tori will be happy soon.

Tori goes to the counter at Salt for her takeaway and is shocked to see Jasmine and Christian at a table on the balcony. Jasmine comes to the bar and says they just ran into each other there and decided to have a drink and dinner together. She invites Tori to join them but Tori declines, saying she wants to get back to Grace, and exchanges an awkward wave with Christian. Tori goes home and tells Leah and Justin that she just found Christian and Jasmine on a date. She goes to check on Grace and says she’s not hungry. Justin quickly helps himself to her takeaway.

Colby comes home to find Willow and Dean about to head off to see Jai. Colby suggests maybe he could see him next time he’s down but Dean isn’t sure when that will be. He notes that just because he didn’t talk to Angelo doesn’t mean he and Colby are friends. After Dean’s gone out, Willow suggests Colby try and find out more about Angelo. Left alone, Colby rings someone called Da Silva and asks what they know about Angelo.
