Episode 7392

Extended Summary

Ryder and Nikau are still at Salt and haven’t heard anything more from Bella. Nikau recalls how the police were onto his family after his dad died but neither of them are exactly sure why Bella is so worked up about it, although they know her family life wasn’t great. They decide she’ll call them when she needs them and head off. Back at the Diner flat, Colby is on the phone to Angelo, telling him Bella has an appointment with the counsellor that afternoon. After the call’s ended, he tells Bella, Dean and Willow that Angelo has agreed to delay the interviews until tomorrow morning. Dean reassures Bella it’s just because they were there that day and Colby reminds her she handled it when McCarthy asked her about Ross’ disappearance. Jasmine arrives and everyone falls quiet. She asks to talk to Willow outside.

Jasmine takes Willow out onto the pier and says she appreciates her support and is sorry she’s taken her for granted. Willow isn’t really listening, off-handedly accepting the apology before saying she isn’t in the right headspace for it. Jasmine says Willow can talk to her about what’s going on with Ross if she wants but Willow says she can’t deal with this now and hurries away. Meanwhile, Marilyn is looking after Grace at the Morgan house when Tori arrives home. They discuss how Grace is nearly crawling before Marilyn comments on the photo album full of pictures of Jasmine and Grace. Tori says Jasmine took them when she was unwell and notes it feels like proof that Jasmine wanted to cut her out.

Ryder and Nikau are outside the surf club. They see Dean, and Nikau asks him what’s happened to Bella. Dean says she’s at home but abruptly says that she’s with family, she will be busy tomorrow and they should leave her alone, before walking away. Both find it weird and Ryder notes he’s given up trying to understand the family. At the Diner, Irene tries to convince Jasmine that Willow simply has a lot on her mind at the moment. Tori and Marilyn arrive with Grace. Jasmine invites Tori to have a coffee with her but Tori says she’s busy. Jasmine offers to mind Grace but Tori pulls her away. Jasmine leaves, hurt.

Irene joins Jasmine near the beach and comments on how it can be hard to win trust back sometimes. Jasmine decides to go and look after the gym. Back at the Diner, Tori is feeling bad about how she reacted while Marilyn assures her it was just maternal instinct. Irene returns and asks Tori if she wants a fresh start. Tori says she did but the album’s left her rattled. Irene says Jasmine is trying to be honest with her.

Colby is training Bella on how to answer questions, telling her not to embellish but to just stick to the facts, that he and Dean turned up at the hospital and said they’d lost Ross. Dean arrives with pizza and tells Bella to text Nikau, which Colby agrees with. Bella is slightly rattled when Colby says that since she’s eighteen he won’t be in the room with her. Dean and Willow try to get Bella a break to eat but Colby says they’ll talk while they eat. At the surf club, Ryder is doing well at pool while Nikau is distracted. He gets a text from Bella saying she’s all right. Ryder realises Nikau really likes her. Nearby, Jasmine pins a schedule on the notice board. She gets a text from Tori asking to meet and talk, with a second one adding “Please.”

Bella is becoming more confused under Colby’s staged questioning. Willow and Dean try to get her to take a break but Bella asks for more questions. Colby asks her about their childhood and is annoyed when Bella describes it as scary, saying getting emotional and crying won’t help. Willow takes Bella outside. Dean tells Colby Bella’s not the one with the problem but Colby says if she messes up they’re both gone. Down on the beach, Willow reminds Bella she’s had no problem staying unemotional and lying to the police in the past. Bella says that’s what Ross taught her to do and now Colby’s telling her to do the same thing. She sees Ryder and Nikau and brightens up as she joins them.

That evening, at Salt, Colby attempts to stress to Willow and Dean that they need Bella to get it right. Willow says since the counselling Bella’s more in touch with her emotions and Colby can’t expect her to go back to how she was before. Colby says they could all be accessories to murder but is given pause when Willow tells him Bella compared him to Ross. Ryder, Nikau and Bella come in; Ryder tries to get Nikau to pay for the meal since he won the pool, but eventually decides to pay rather than have a rematch. Colby beckons Bella onto the balcony: He apologises for being full-on and says things will be all right. At the Diner, Marilyn greets Jasmine before she joins Tori. They acknowledge they both have to work on rebuilding the trust and Tori takes a photo of the two of them with Grace. Willow comes in and chats to Irene. She invites Jasmine to watch a movie with her at home and Jasmine agrees.

Colby and Bella arrive back at the flat. Bella heads to her room as Dean appears, saying Ziggy’s crashed out. Colby is worried Angelo will get something from Bella and says if he does, he’ll say he dropped Dean off before finding Ross. Bella listens in, worried. Next morning, Colby and Dean meet up on the beach: Willow is at the police station and Colby is taking Bella in later. Dean says he, Ziggy and Willow will look after Bella if need be but tries to convince Colby things will be fine.

Nikau finds Bella outside his house and she tells him about having to go to the police. She is in a panic and says she can’t do it. Nikau asks if she wants to find out who killed her dad and tries to get her to tell him what’s going on. Bella says if she does he can’t tell anyone.
