Extended Summary

Irene, Bella and Jasmine are walking along the beach. Bella is worried about Dean and wants to go see him. Irene tries to get Jasmine to confirm he is all right; Jasmine is distracted looking at her phone and decides to go for a run. Bella suggests getting Dean breakfast; Irene promises to get an update and sends Bella off to school. Up in the Diner flat, Dean is still asleep. Willow knocks on Colby’s bedroom door but finds he isn’t there. She tries to call him, hoping he isn’t at the police station.

Colby is standing on the beach, about to go for a surf. Jasmine comes along and asks about Dean. Colby says he slept through the night and thanks Jasmine for her help, although he is slightly cagey about details. After he’s gone into the surf, his phone rings. Jasmine answers it and tells Willow where they are. Willow meets her near the Diner and asks her to keep an eye on Dean while she goes to talk to Colby. Colby tells her he’s going to talk to Bella before going to the police. Willow was hoping he’d changed his mind. Colby says it’s his choice but agrees to talk it over.

Jasmine is with Dean as he wakes up and tells him he slept all night. Dean feels bad but notes it’s the best he’s felt in ages. Jasmine reiterates that if he doesn’t deal with his problems then they’ll reoccur. Dean says he can’t talk to her about it and Jasmine lets him go for a shower. Meanwhile, Colby and Willow arrive at the gym. Willow says Bella’s been through enough already and also thinks Dean will be implicated. Colby says he’ll leave Dean out of it but has to take responsibility. Willow doesn’t think it’ll help Bella if he goes to jail but Colby insists he’s going to tell her after school.

Colby and Willow head back to the flat where they quickly get rid of Jasmine. Colby tells Dean he’s going to confess and adds that he wants Dean and Willow to look after Bella, despite Dean feeling he’s not up to it. Willow is hoping Dean will talk Colby out of it but Dean is willing to listen. Downstairs, Jasmine assures Irene that Dean is fine but thinks there’s something going on. Irene doesn’t think that’s unusual. She guesses from Jasmine’s attention to her phone that Jasmine called Robbo. She suggests the fact that he didn’t answer means it’s time to move on.

Colby assures Dean that he can convince the police he acted alone, reminding him that he always said he’d say he left Dean by the roadside and tracked Ross down alone. He also thinks he can explain away claiming Ross’ watch was Dean’s, thinking once they get the confession the police won’t be bothered about the details. He insists this is the only way to stop Bella living in fear. Willow still refuses to agree and rushes out. Dean tells Colby to let her cool down. Willow goes to the school where she finds Bella and tells her to skip school with her. Bella is reluctant but Willow says Colby knows about it and has okayed it with the school.

Colby is worried that they haven’t heard from Willow. Dean points out she’s unlikely to be happy about losing her family. Colby gets a call from the school saying Bella isn’t there. Dean realises what Willow’s done. They go downstairs and ask Irene if she’s seen Bella. Irene asks if she’s run off again and Colby says it’s just a misunderstanding. Irene suggests they check out her place.

Willow is virtually dragging Bella through a park area, having hold of her bag and insisting it’s a pamper day and she doesn’t need anything. They are stopped by Jasmine, who wonders what’s going on. Willow tries to brush past her but Jasmine says they either go for a coffee together or she goes to see Colby. Shortly after, Jasmine and Willow chat in Salt with Bella at the bar. Jasmine has guessed that Colby doesn’t know Bella is with Jasmine. Willow will only say that she’s trying to stop Bella finding something out. She tries to call Bella over only to run into Colby.

Jasmine meets up with Irene outside the Diner and tells her Bella’s with Colby, although she thinks there’s more to it than just Bella skipping school. Irene apologises if she was harsh before but Jasmine thinks she was right and deletes Robbo’s contact details from her phone. Meanwhile, Colby and Willow bring Bella back to the flat where Dean is waiting. Colby sits Bella down and says he needs to tell her something, which he did to protect her but it’s not her fault: Ross is dead. Bella is furious, realising they all lied to her and this is why he knew she was safe. She runs out and Colby follows. Willow paces and berates Dean for not stopping Colby. Dean says taking Bella away wouldn’t help; Willow says she was hoping Colby would change his mind.

Colby follows Bella on the beach. She asks how he did it and he reluctantly says he shot him. Bella asks if he just left his body there, asking if it was quick, if he talked to him, where the body is. Colby won’t answer. Bella realises that’s why Chelsea left and what Dean meant when he said he’d take her to Ross. Colby insists they all love her. Bella tells him to go to hell.
