Colby discovers Bella has run. Willow is worried for Dean as his strange night behaviours worsen. Tensions between Tori and Jasmine reach boiling point.

Extended Summary

At the surf club, Willow and Dean chat to Ben, who is taking a surf board out for a test. Ben tells Dean that he doesn’t need him at the moment but to be back in the afternoon, adding that it’s a nice change to have Dean doing a good job. Willow comments that Dean seems more rested. Colby comes in and invites Dean for a feed, but then gets a call from Maggie saying Bella isn’t at school. He initially assumes she slept in and he and Dean go to the flat but quickly realise she isn’t there. She also doesn’t answer her phone when Colby calls. Colby then sees her note which simply reads “I have to go. Don’t worry about me.”

At the Diner, Jasmine confirms to Leah that she still hasn’t heard from Robbo and isn’t expecting to. Leah suggests they have a girls’ night. Tori comes in and Jasmine abruptly decides to leave; Tori says she doesn’t have to and Jasmine coldly says she knows. Tori remarks to Leah that Jasmine treats her much the same at work. Irene bluntly asks if she’s surprised. Dean comes in and tells them that Bella’s missing and Colby’s looking for her. Dean, Colby and Willow meet up at the surf club; they’ve checked the school and other obvious places and called Raffy. Colby has also confirmed she didn’t take a bus. Willow and Dean suggest she could be on foot or hitching. Colby protests that she’s nowhere to go.

A car drops Bella off by her old house. She gets a call from Colby but turns her phone off. She goes inside, ducking under police tape outside, and heads to her old room. She looks with fondness at an ornament and takes a small suitcase out of the bottom of the wardrobe: It is full of photos and other momentoes. She listens to Colby’s voicemail asking her to call but puts the phone down without responding. Colby, Willow and Dean exit the surf club. The others ask Willow what she’d have done when she was a teenage girl and she says she’d have gone to a place where she felt safe and at home. Colby realises she’s at her old home. Dean offers to go there with him but Colby tells him to wait at the apartment.

Inside, Willow asks Ben to keep an eye out for Bella. Ben concludes that Dean’s not coming back to work and Willow apologises for not telling him. Jasmine comes in and Willow tells her about Bella. Jasmine tries to get her to stay for a juice but changes her mind when Tori comes in. Once outside, Willow asks Jasmine what that was about and Jasmine asks if Willow thinks she was too harsh, admitting it was a bit childish. Willow understands but points out Jasmine and Tori both live there and work together, asking if she can ever forgive Tori. Jasmine isn’t sure she can, saying she mustn’t be as nice as she thought she was. Willow decides to go find Dean and Jasmine mentions the girls’ night to her.

Dean is at the Diner with Irene and notes that Colby won’t have got there yet. Willow comes in and wonders why Dean’s there instead of upstairs. Dean says he was going stir crazy. He frets about Colby, thinking he should have gone with him. Colby draws up outside the Nixon house. He sees nothing through the windows but when he goes round the back he finds Bella sat next to a dug-up grave. He sits down next to her and asks why she ran. Bella tearfully notes that Michelle was there all the time.

Irene sits with Jasmine and they briefly discuss Colby and Bella. Irene says that she understands how Jasmine feels but she can’t have a go at Tori at work. Jasmine is annoyed to find that Tori was complaining about her and storms out. She goes to the Morgan house and tells Tori to say things to her face. Tori says it’s a misunderstanding but eventually admits she was complaining. She says she knows Jasmine’s been hurt but they still have to work together. Jasmine agrees to show her respect as a doctor at work but says they’re not friends.

Colby tries to get Bella to come back to Summer Bay with him. Bella refuses however, saying she’s going to stay there and since she’s sixteen she can. Colby doesn’t try and change her mind but says that if she’s staying then so is he. That evening, Willow and Dean are holed up in the Diner flat, with Willow complaining that they’re watching a documentary on 18th century trains. Colby rings them up and tells them about finding Bella and that they’re going to stay there, declining Dean’s offer to join him. After Bella has left the room, he becomes less assured, admitting he’s not sure what’s going to happen but again insists on handling it alone. He goes to Bella’s room and asks her where they can get food. Willow tries to get Dean to go out with her but he says he’s going to crash on the couch there.

At Salt, Leah and Jasmine discuss her meeting with Tori. Willow comes in and tells them Bella’s with Colby. They invite her to join them and she goes to get drinks. Ben is at the bar and asks about Dean coming back to work, saying even if he’s only on commission, he needs to be there when he’s supposed to. Willow begs him not to fire him and Ben says he’s not fired but is on thin ice. Willow tries to call Dean, but although his phone is on the table at the flat, Dean is nowhere in sight. In fact, he is sleepwalking again (in shoes this time), a letter addressed to McCarthy in his hand. He posts it in a letterbox and walks on.
