Extended Summary

Colby is clearing stuff from his locker as Chelsea tries to talk to him. She asks if he wants to know why she came to Summer Bay. Colby says it’s nothing to do with him. Chelsea says that’s not exactly true but Colby simply says his shift’s over and leaves. Later, Colby runs into Dean near the Diner. Dean wonders where Willow is but all Colby can say is that she’s not at the police station anymore. Dean asks if they can make her statement disappear. Colby says that’s not what Willow wants, plus it’s illegal. Dean suggests he say he threatened her into confessing. Colby angrily tells him to kick the door of the police station down if he wants but leave him out of it.

Despite his protests, Dean follows Colby up to the flat and gets two beers from the fridge, asking what’s going on. Colby says he ran into someone from his past. Dean deduces from his reactions that it’s a hot chick, but when Colby refuses to give any more information, he leaves. Down by the beach, Willow checks Justin understands why she confessed, saying it’s not what they wanted for their fresh start but she couldn’t let Dean take all the blame. Justin does understand but isn’t convinced her going to jail is certain. She ignores a call from Dean and Justin says they need to get home and sort her out a lawyer.

Shortly after, Willow tells Justin that her lawyer is hoping her case can be heard at the same time as Dean’s and that it means her subpoena no longer applies. Mason comes home and sarcastically comments on Willow being there when he’s been covering for her at work. Justin says they’ll explain later but Mason wants an explanation now. Willow says she was at the police station being charged. Mason starts to ask what for, then decides he doesn’t care: He has an assignment due and is behind. At the Diner, Irene greets Ben and a bewigged Maggie. Ben tries to order takeaway coffees but Maggie convinces him to sit and have them: They’re on the way to the hospital for her blood tests and there’s 28 days until she can get the all-clear.

There is a hammering on the door at the Morgan house from Dean. Justin tries to send him away but Dean insists he needs to talk to Willow and sort it. Willow says it’s already sorted. Mason emerges and, exasperated by the situation, calls the police. Soon, Chelsea arrives and, when Dean refuses to leave, arrests him. Dean slowly realises she was the girl at the caravan park. Justin tries to take Mason to task but Mason says he stopped Dean harassing Willow and goes back to his room. Justin and Willow leave. At the police station, Dean says he just wanted to talk to Willow and Justin will back him up. When Chelsea makes comments about him being a River Boy, Dean realises she’s Colby’s ex and offers to put a word in for her with him if she drops the matter. Chelsea suggests that’s bribing a police officer.

At Salt, Justin and Willow fill Colby in on Dean being arrested. Colby clearly realises from Willow’s description that it was Chelsea that did it. He leaves to look into it. Justin apologises for Mason’s behaviour but Willow says he wasn’t wrong. She decides she needs to see Irene. At the Diner, Irene gives Ben and Maggie a takeaway moussaka and salad. When she sees Willow and Justin, she greets Willow with a hug. Willow explains she’s told the police everything and tells Justin he can leave them. Irene reassures Willow that she did the right thing and goes to get her some food.

Chelsea places Dean in a cell. Colby arrives and neither he nor Chelsea seem impressed about Dean’s comments on their relationship. Colby follows Chelsea to the office. She thinks he’s going to tell her to go easy on Dean and says that, when it came out he was a River Boy, she got questioned by the district commander and by her father. They decide to talk tomorrow. Next morning, Dean and Colby meet on the beach. Dean says Chelsea let him go without charge first thing. Colby says it was nothing to do with him and walks away when Dean loudly proclaims that Chelsea’s still into him.

Maggie is on the phone to Ziggy, saying she hasn’t got the results yet but the lab must be busy. After she’s rung off, Ben suggests Maggie is more worried than she made out. Maggie says they’ve usually got the results by now: Something’s different and it might be something bad. Ben suggests it could be something good. Later, as they walk on the beach, Maggie wonders if them sleeping in the same bed again has made a difference. She gets a phone call from the hospital and tells Ben her cancer markers are down: So far down that they rechecked!

Dean goes back to his van and finds Willow inside: She says the door was unlocked. Dean asks why she did it and Willow says for the same reasons he did: She couldn’t let him do it and she needs to take responsibility. After a brief moment of reflection, Dean asks if she’s met Colby’s ex. Back at the Morgan house, Mason is still working on the assignment. Justin apologises for the interruptions yesterday. Mason points out he’s interrupting him again and says he’s not going to be a doormat anymore. Justin says there’s a difference between not being a doormat and being a jerk. Mason accuses Justin of always putting Willow first.

Colby goes to Chelsea’s caravan; she is actually sat nearby and calls him over. Colby gives her a coffee and thanks her for going easy on Dean. She says she has experience of taming River Boys and woke him up every hour to check on him. Colby points out they’re talking as if they’ve only just met. They walk together and Chelsea says she regretted him moving out five minutes later: She never had a problem with him, just with his choices. She says she was worried about him during the tribunal but now there’s no more secrets: She came to Summer Bay because she still loves him and wants to know if he feels the same.
