Extended Summary

Willow and Justin run into each other near the beach. Willow checks he knows about Hazel and suggests Nina might be more open to him seeing Ava now. Justin quickly leaves when Dean approaches. Willow notes Dean wasn’t there when she woke up and guesses he went to see Colby. Dean says there’s no change and quips he should ask him if they can move in and take silence as agreement. Willow wonders what happens when Robbo gets bail, since they have no jobs and she’s only stopped gambling because she hasn’t got any money. Back at the Palmer house, over breakfast, John and Marilyn say they’ve taken the day off to all spend together but Raffy says she’s packing. Ty reminds her she told him not to hurt the Palmers but Raffy says that was before they kept secrets from her. She calls Ty a user and liar and says him moving in was the worst thing that’s happened to her. John makes a few attempts to alert her that someone has entered behind her: Catherine, Ty’s case worker.

Justin encounters Hunter in a bizarrely good mood on the beach after a surf. Raffy comes over and tells Justin she needs to talk. Justin asks if it’s about Ty. Raffy says she wants to move back in for good. Later, after Raffy has explained what happened, Justin suggests social services understand that teenagers argue. He also realises that she still likes Ty and Raffy says she wishes she could hate him. Justin says that Ty was confused and Raffy is annoyed that everyone defends him. Justin says there’s always a room for her at theirs but she can’t keep running away when there’s a problem.

Catherine explains that she received reports from the hospital and the police about Ty being injured and being reported missing, neither of which John and Marilyn told her about. Ty says he just needed space to clear his head. Catherine asks what triggered it. Marilyn takes Ty’s hand and smiles reassuringly but Catherine wonders why she’s not letting him answer. Marilyn says he has a right to privacy. Catherine asks to speak to John and Marilyn alone. They tell her Ty had an argument with a friend and, when Catherine asks if it was Raffy, agree. However, when she asks what it was about, they clam up. Catherine isn’t happy about them closing ranks or controlling what Ty says and decides she needs to escalate it and it may not be up to her whether Ty stays.

Willow checks the fridge at the flat and says they only have noodles. Dean isn’t bothered but Willow says they need to get jobs: She wants him to see about labouring work while she’ll ask Brody for a job. After she’s left the room, Dean gets a call from Brett which he rejects. Later, Dean and Willow exit the flat and run into Alf. They claim they’re house-sitting. Willow arranges to meet Dean later. Dean rejects another call from Brett, only for him to appear in person. He says he’s heard Dean left the caravan park and gives him 24 hours to pay back the money.

At the surf club, Ryder suggests to Ty that he just tells Catherine the truth but Ty wants to sort things with Raffy before telling anyone else. Ryder suggests they’ll soon be friends again like he and Ty are. Ty gets a text from Catherine wanting to see him. Back at the Palmer house, Justin has filled John and Marilyn in on Raffy. He assures them he doesn’t have a problem with them and says he’s told Raffy she has to talk to them before moving back in.

Catherine meets with Ty at the Diner. Ty denies running away and doesn’t answer when she tries to ask for his reasons. Catherine wonders if John and Marilyn are putting pressure on him to keep quiet. Ty says they taught him to be himself without explanation or apology. Later, Olivia shows Irene the photos of Ziggy’s wedding dress she’s put online, which she is getting positive comments about. Hunter comes in and he and Olivia chat in a friendly and somewhat flirty manner. Irene calls them into the kitchen and asks if they’re back on. They deny it and suggests they all have dinner together so they can show her they’re comfortable with each other.

Willow meets Dean at Salt and says there’s no jobs available. Dean tells her he needs to get $3000 by tomorrow. He explains he borrowed the money from someone who knew someone, and that River Boys like Taz or Bluey don’t have the money. He notices someone paying with a card at the counter and takes Willow out onto the balcony, saying they should install a card skimmer. Willow protests that they’re illegal but Dean says it would only be for one night, the bank would pay back the money and no-one will connect it to Salt. He thinks Willow can get one through her contacts. Willow isn’t keen but agrees when Dean says he’ll do it himself otherwise.

John and Marilyn fret until Catherine and Ty arrive. John says they’ll fight if she tries to take Ty away but Catherine agrees that he belongs there: She doesn’t know the details, but Ty’s changed for the better since he’s been with them. She leaves and John quips that they fooled them. Ty asks about Raffy. They tell him she still wants to move out but they can deal with that. Justin delivers Raffy to John and Marilyn at the Diner. She thinks they’re going to tell her off about this morning. John says they don’t want her moving out because she’s angry. Marilyn says Raffy’s been like a daughter to her, she’d protect her like Ty and she hopes they can continue their relationship even if Raffy isn’t living there. Raffy asks if she can go. Before she does, John asks her what she thinks of as home.

Irene, Hunter and Olivia are eating at Salt. Hunter and Olivia say they had a moment before the wedding but it wasn’t a big drama and they’ve realised they need to be friends. Irene is suspicious but accepts it. Dean distracts the server by claiming he’s seen some broken glass on the floor, letting Willow install the skimmer. She says they can hide in the bathroom to retrieve it after hours but is concerned when she sees Irene paying with her card. At the Palmer house, Raffy arrives and finds Ty there. Ty says she was there first so he should move out. Raffy says neither of them’s going and it’s her home. Ty says he thought she was what he wanted, but admits he strung her along. Raffy accepts it but says he broke her heart.

Dean and Willow emerge from hiding and retrieve the skimmer. Downstairs, Alf is finishing work in the office and turns the light out. He hears running on the stairs and asks who’s there. Dean knocks him to the ground. He and Willow run off, leaving Alf lying unconscious.
