Extended Summary

Justin is finishing a swim on the beach and is joined by Tori and Ava, who have just come back from a trip to Yabbie Creek that appears to have involved shopping. Justin suggests they go to the Diner. With Ava out of earshot, Tori tells Justin Ava needs to spend more time with him. Justin explains he was trying to cheer up Ash and suggests Tori go see him. Tori is saved from committing herself by a phone call enquiring about a lawyer for Robbo. Meanwhile, Ash is still trapped under the car, with his phone out of reach. He grabs a small spanner and tries to reach the phone with that but it is still too far away and he is forced to resort to shouting for help.

Jennifer ignores Hunter’s attempts to talk to her and, when Leah comes in, says she’s making risotto. Leah suggests she use different ingredients and Jennifer, slightly hurt, says it’s how they make it at home. She adds that she and Hunter had a fight earlier but all couples have them. Hunter and Leah go outside for a chat; Hunter says he broke up with Jennifer but she’s acting like he didn’t. He decides to talk to her again. Meanwhile, Olivia meets Mason at the Diner but deflects his questions, asking about him going back to medicine. Justin and Ava come in and Alf jokes about Ava asking for extra chocolate. He and Justin discuss Ash, with Irene also getting involved. Justin isn’t sure if he should worry that Ash isn’t answering his phone or not. Tori joins them and says she’s found a lawyer for Robbo. Alf doesn’t think Robbo has a chance but says it’s nice Tori’s helping him. Justin again suggests she help Ash.

Jennifer is still cooking but Hunter accosts her. Jennifer offers to be less full-on but Hunter says he isn’t ready for a relationship. Jennifer reminds him he told her he was and he says he was wrong. She offers to go back to just having fun or wait for him but Hunter says it’s bad timing. Jennifer says she’ll pack her bags despite both Leah and Hunter saying she doesn’t have to; Leah still hasn’t managed to get hold of Nick. Back at the garage, Justin arrives and finds Ash. He gets a jack to lift the car off him but Tori arrives and tells him to stop: If he moves the car, he’ll kill Ash. She tells him to phone an ambulance. Ash says he’s been there two hours and Tori explains he has a crush injury: If the pressure is released too fast, toxins will flood him. She checks his ankle pulses and finds there is a loss of circulation to one of his legs, meaning he could lose it, but still refuses to take the car off.

Irene stops by Olivia and Mason’s table at the Diner and compliments Mason on going back to uni, commenting on the two of them and Hunter all being there. Olivia pulls a face at the mention of Hunter and, after Irene has gone, admits to Mason that she gave him advice about breaking up with Jennifer. She refuses to consider something happening between them if he does. Meanwhile, Hunter worries about Jennifer being upstairs and admits to Leah that it was too soon to start a relationship. Jennifer leaves a message for Nick asking him to call her urgently but tells Leah and Hunter he’s meeting her at the Diner. She turns down Hunter’s offer to walk her there but looks a lot less confident as she leaves the house.

Tori continues to check on Ash, whose circulation is getting weaker. He wonders why she’s there and she explains Justin tried to persuade her to come. Ash jokes that he hasn’t stuffed up in a few weeks so it was about time. The ambulance turns up and the two crewmembers begin setting up pain relief and a monitor. Tori tells the senior one, Ken, that Ash only has one kidney, meaning his body will tolerate less toxins than normal. Ash tells Tori he’s sorry and they instruct Justin to slowly lift the car off.

Hunter meets with Mason at Salt and half-jokingly says he only called him there for free beers. He explains he broke up with Jennifer and notes it’s not a good idea to move in with someone when you’re on the rebound and pretending you’re not. Mason wonders what it means for Hunter and Olivia but Hunter isn’t ready to think about that. Later, the pair are walking home with Mason declining an offer to come and drink Alf’s beers. Hunter admits he stuffed up with Jennifer but both of them fail to notice her resting on a table under shelter nearby, her bags still with her.

The car is slowly being lifted off Ash and the circulation is returning to his legs. However, he then feels a pain in his chest and they have to stop as he goes into AF. He normalises when they give him drugs. With the air of a final confession, Ash tells Tori she was right to help Robbo and Tori says she was helping Ash. They start lifting the car again but then Ash arrests. They quickly lift the car off and pull him out as Tori starts doing chest compressions…
