Extended Summary

Justin enters Salt and sees Ash at the bar. He approaches him, asking if he’s coming into the garage tomorrow. Ash replies that Robbo is his priority. He asks after Tori and Justin suggests he goes and see her. Ash gets a text and notes that some of Dean’s boys have been arrested for brawling. At the police station, McCarthy introduces Colby to Stevenson and they briefly tell him who the River Boys are. Colby says he’ll head home and get some sleep.

Colby arrives at the Diner where Alf introduces him to Leah and Marilyn, who offer him a meal on the house. Irene also appears and dubs him a hero. They ask him how he came to be in Summer Bay and he says it was luck of the draw. He asks if they knew the person he’s replacing and they confirm they did. Back at the Morgan house, Justin is on the phone to Willow asking about the car. Tori comes in with food and medicine for Robbo. Justin tells her Brody’s out and Mason’s nursing bruises from a run-in with the River Boys, asking how many more people are going to be hurt. He also mentions Ash asking after her and says if he finds out what she’s doing he’ll never forgive her. Tori goes to the garage where Robbo is huddled under a blanket, shivering. She tries to get him to eat but he says he just needs to sleep.

Next morning, Ben gets up and finds Maggie sat on the sofa. He asks her if she made it to bed; she says she did but felt queasy. She admits to being worried about the test results. Ben says he can’t make them come sooner but can keep her company. He turns the television on and they cuddle up to each other. Down on the beach, Ash is coming back from a surf as Tori appears with her yoga mat. She attempts to make small talk before apologising for not spending much time with him. Ash says he’s been out of sorts. Tori says he’s been angry and she’s not loving it. She suggests they eat together, saying he’s more important than yoga. Ash says he’ll meet her at Salt, although she looks disappointed when she sees him checking his phone.

At the Diner, Leah provides Jasmine with a meal, noting it makes a change from hospital food, and Irene gives her a phone charger. Leah starts to ask Jasmine what her plans are now she’s out of hospital but Jasmine’s phone suddenly starts pinging with multiple alerts, leaving her anxious. Leah takes it from her and sees she has 42 missed calls from David Cantrall and as many texts. At the police station, Colby dresses in uniform because going to the office to catch up on the Robbo case. McCarthy expresses the opinion that Robbo has left the area but says it’s not stopping the River Boys investigating; a service station owner has reported being harassed so he wants Colby and Stevenson to go there and check the CCTV footage. As they’re about to leave, Leah and Jasmine arrive and Leah says they want to report a stalker. Colby asks if he can deal with it so McCarthy sends another officer, Jonesey, with Stevenson. Colby leads Jasmine into an office and says Leah can accompany them.

At Salt, Tori tells Ash it feels like she’s saying the same things over and over but he isn’t listening, wondering how long he’s going to keep searching for Robbo and saying the police will find him. Ash gets a text from the River Boys about a lead. Tori tells him about them beating up Mason. Ash says he’ll sort it but has to go. At the police station, Colby asks Leah and Jasmine about the AVO; Jasmine doesn’t have a copy so he says he’ll look it up to see if it covers texts. If it does, he’ll need evidence, so he asks for Jasmine’s phone so he can take a clone. As the two women leave, Jasmine thanks Colby.

Roo arrives at the school and apologises for being late, saying council workers stopped her getting in. Maggie notes she’s not the only one and they’re fixing the gas mains. Roo has Year 8 English and Maggie tells her to remind them song lyrics are poetry. Maggie goes to the office where her phone starts ringing. She sees it’s the hospital and seems to feel dizzy, turning the phone off. At the police station, McCarthy and Stevenson tell Colby that not only did the CCTV identify the River Boys responsible for the vandalism, it also showed the number plate of the car that dropped Robbo off. McCarthy sends Colby and Stevenson to interview the driver.

Tori joins Justin outside the Morgan garage, having been called by him. He tells her that Robbo’s thrown up. They go inside to check on him. Justin points out Robbo’s getting worse and says the only thing worse than a criminal in their garage is a dead criminal. Tori notes he needs stronger antibiotics and hurries out. Justin follows her. Tori says she hopes she can get Robbo to turn himself in but doesn’t want him dying in a cell. Back at the school, Roo finds Maggie sat on the floor in the office, having a panic attack, and manages to calm her. Maggie explains about the phone call, saying she doesn’t want to know bad news or have to tell the girls. Roo uses her phone to call Ben, asking him to come and pick Maggie up.

Colby and Stevenson return to the police station and tell McCarthy that the elderly driver wasn’t sure if it was Robbo he picked up or not. However, he did find a necklace in the car which might be Kat’s. Colby wants to check the files but the others tell him to just ask someone to identify it. They suggest Ash. McCarthy asks if Colby needs someone to take over the stalking case but he says he can do both. He meets Leah and Jasmine near the beach and returns Jasmine’s phone to her, saying he put his number in it. He asks if they know where he can find Ash, since he wasn’t at his house, and Leah suggests trying Tori’s place. She then asks Jasmine where she’s planning to stay, noting a hotel would be expensive, and offers to get her a good deal at the caravan park. Jasmine agrees.

Ben arrives at the school; Maggie and Roo explain the situation to him and Roo says she can keep an eye on things. Ben and Maggie decide to call Tori. At the Morgan house, Tori takes the call and agrees the hospital should have sent her the results, saying she’ll look into it. She tells Justin she has to go to the hospital to get IV fluids for Robbo; he isn’t happy about her stealing medication. Ash arrives and says he’s going to follow the lead on Robbo up the coast; neither Tori nor Justin tries to dissuade him, but after Tori has gone, Justin asks if he’s going to spend the rest of his life following rumours. Colby arrives and Justin lets him in despite Ash trying to ask for a warrant. Colby shows him the necklace; Ash confirms it’s Kat’s and she was wearing it when she let Robbo out of the cell the night she died. He tries to get more information, grabbing Colby’s wrist. Justin stops him and blocks his path as Colby leaves but Ash runs out the back, catching Colby on the drive. He says to tell him where Robbo is so he can do what the police can’t. When he grabs Colby, Colby arrests him for obstruction. Robbo watches from the garage.

At the farm house, Tori tells Ben and Maggie that the tests showed it wasn’t a cyst but non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, although hopefully they caught it early. Maggie asks what happens now and wonders if she’ll need chemo. Tori says she’ll have an appointment with a haematologist who’ll recommend treatment, which will probably include chemotherapy. Maggie asks if she’s going to die. Tori doesn’t answer.
