Hunter breaks down following Olivia’s rejection. Justin and Ash track Robbo down. Is Tori losing Ash?
Extended Summary
Willow meets Mason outside the surf club but he isn’t in the mood for her banter about time keeping. Willow asks where Justin’s been lately and he explains a friend of theirs recently died in a car accident. Tori comes over and asks if he’s seen Justin or Ash. Mason hasn’t but says if they’re both missing they’re probably together. Tori says that’s what’s worrying her. At that moment, the pair are coming to a halt a short distance from Robbo’s cottage. Justin explains about finding the address in Kat’s things. Robbo is in the bedroom (which seems less rustic than the rest of it) and sees them coming. Justin reminds Ash they’re just there to talk. They go inside and see the broken crib.
At the Diner, Irene gives Hunter a meal he hadn’t ordered. He texts Olivia again. Irene says she rang her last night to tell her about Kat but doesn’t know where she is. She advises Hunter to give her space but Hunter refuses, saying she broke up with him and then just disappeared. Tori comes in asking if anyone’s seen Ash. Alf recalls seeing him outside Kat’s place. Tori calls Justin, who confirms they’re at the cottage but says Robbo isn’t there. Ash recalls catching Robbo about to do a runner and realises he planned to take Kat and the baby to the cottage. They walk through the bedroom but don’t see Robbo hiding; Ash says Robbo was delusional and Kat would have seen through him. Finding a bloodied bandage outside, Ash says Robbo must have gone there after leaving Kat to die. Robbo charges out of hiding and tackles Ash, who quickly gains the upper hand, but Justin drags him off and Robbo flees. Justin tries to stop Ash following, saying Kat wouldn’t want it. Ash says Kat would want to be alive with the baby. He punches Justin unconscious and goes after Robbo.
Raffy is with John in the office at the surf club. John understands she’d rather be in bed but doesn’t want her on her own with Robbo still loose. Willow comes in looking for towels, since Mason usually handles them. John warns her about being on her own and Raffy quickly volunteers to help her out. In the woods, Ash finds Robbo in pain and says he just wants to talk. Robbo says he shouldn’t have trusted Tori but Ash says Tori said nothing and it’s Robbo’s fault Kat and the baby died. Robbo says he didn’t know Kat was going to break him out and Ash replies he didn’t stop her. Robbo insists he loved Kat and leans on Ash, who punches him in the chest. They fight and Robbo delivers the last punch, before knocking Ash out with a chunk of wood. Justin recovers and finds Ash injured, kicking him and saying they both got hit on the head. He helps him up but refuses to let him look for Robbo, saying he’s taking him home.
Hunter is sitting in his car outside the surf club. Jennifer approaches and tries to get him to talk to her, saying she knows what it’s like to be let down by someone you love, but Hunter isn’t interested in sharing. Jennifer sees a stack of beer cans on the back seat. She tries to get Hunter to spend time with her but he says he’s going for a drive. At the surf club, Raffy is helping Willow shift equipment. She gets momentarily teary about Kat and Willow comforts her. Raffy asks if Willow likes Justin and Willow admits she regrets giving him an ultimatum. Mason comes over and checks in with Raffy. Willow invites them both to join her for gelato but Mason gets a text and says he has to go.
Mason and Jennifer find Hunter drinking up on the headland, looking somewhat the worse for wear. He gets back into his car and, despite Mason saying he can’t drive, starts the engine. Mason talks to him about Olivia, saying it might not be over and she might just need some space. Jennifer agrees that she might just have been shocked by the proposal. Hunter says they didn’t see her face but does turn the engine off. They take him to the Diner, where Jennifer sits with him while Mason goes to get coffee. Irene is worried about how he’s handling things. Mason says not knowing about Olivia is doing Hunter’s head in.
Tori is at home when Justin and Ash arrive back, bruised and battered. She realises Robbo was there after all. Justin wants to tell the police about the place but Ash wants to find Robbo himself, saying he needs to finish it. He brushes aside Tori’s questions and goes to get cleaned up. After looking at a text from Willow asking how he is, Justin tells Tori not to be hard on Ash but Tori isn’t interested in his opinion and goes into the bedroom. She tells Ash she’s worried about him. Ash says she kept quiet about the cottage and that he isn’t any more impressed with her choices than she is with his.
Raffy arrives back at the Morgan house to see Tori failing to stop Ash leaving. Justin brushes aside her questions on the incident and on his bruised face. Raffy asks why he hasn’t been responding to Willow’s texts. Justin tries to dismiss the issue but Raffy persists, saying they could be happy together. Justin eventually agrees to go see her and to drop Raffy at John and Marilyn’s on the way. Near the beach, Willow is meeting a woman, Odette, who says thanks to Willow’s video she got the house and car. She pays Willow some money, which is seen by Justin. As Odette says she has a friend in the same situation, Justin walks away.
Olivia is in the motel room. Irene knocks on the door and tells her she’s destroyed Hunter and needs to face up to it rather than hiding away. Meanwhile, Justin arrives home and complains to Tori about Willow’s dodgy dealings. He asks if Tori’s still mad at him and again asks her to go easy on Ash. Tori replies that she was there when Kat died and Ash doesn’t want answers but payback. She says he’s slipping away from her and she doesn’t know how to stop it.
