Extended Summary

Justin and Willow are settling down on the sofa with pizza, beer and the footy. Willow queries Justin describing this as an emergency but Justin counters that they have the place to themselves. At that point, Tori returns home and, after making a caustic remark, says she saw Kat coming out of Ash’s bedroom. Willow excuses herself from the house as Tori gets a call from Ash and responds by rejecting the call and taking a large swig of wine. Back at the beach house, Ash tells Irene she hung up again and Irene is unimpressed with him. Ash retreats as Hunter and Olivia return home and Irene makes a pointed remark about people being in other people’s beds. Olivia says she has to get her sketches ready to meet a Find head honcho, Marli Lewis, in the morning. Hunter gives her a pep-talk before going to have a shower. Irene asks if Axel will be at the meeting. Olivia says he set it up and insists she can handle it.

Ash goes to the Morgan house but finds himself stonewalled by Justin and Brody, who tell him Tori has gone to bed: In fact, she is lying on the sofa. Ash says he can explain but Justin tells him to come back in the morning and do so. After Ash has gone, Brody offers to go after him but Tori says she needs time. Next morning, Jarrod approaches Ziggy by the beach. She tells him she’s meeting a friend and he asks if it’s Brody. In fact, it’s Olivia. Jarrod introduces himself as Ziggy’s terrible ex. Ziggy tells him Olivia isn’t single and Jarrod replies that he only has eyes for her before leaving them. Olivia recalls that Jarrod cheated on Ziggy and notes she seems to have forgiven him. Ziggy replies that it’s not something you get over.

Tori has gone to see Ash at the beach house. He promises her that nothing happened with Kat and they were just talking but won’t say what it’s about, just saying that Kat could be in trouble. Tori says she deserves better and it’s obvious Ash doesn’t trust her. Meanwhile, Justin finds Willow finishing off a boot camp session. He tries to arrange a time to meet but she points out they’ve been spending a lot of time together and it usually ends up being interrupted by Tori. She advises Justin to focus on his sister.

Brody serves Olivia and Ziggy at the Diner but Olivia looks less than interested in her food. Irene makes veiled remarks about her meeting and how she’s done everything to make sure it succeeds. Olivia excuses herself, saying she has to get ready. Brody starts to ask Ziggy about Jarrod but at that moment the man himself turns up and takes Olivia’s meal. Olivia and Axel go to Salt where he gives her a brief pep-talk before introducing her to Marli. Marli ignores Olivia’s outstretched hand and sarcastically says she hopes she knows which company she’s talking to this time. Olivia says she’s sorry and thanks her for meeting her.

Jarrod comes into the Diner and makes dismissive comments to Brody about the establishment. Irene steps in to take his order and, when Jarrod comments on the grumpy chef, says he’s only grumpy when he has to deal with idiots. Brody privately tells Irene he’s six months clean but feels like he’s just running on the spot. Irene acknowledges that working in the Diner isn’t his dream job. Back at Salt, Olivia is showing Marli her designs with some support from Axel. Marli says she’s still not sure, and it’s not the designs she has a problem with but Olivia. Olivia says she made a naïve mistake and Axel tells Marli to stop torturing Olivia and give them an answer. Marli tells Olivia she’ll have a new contract sent to her. Olivia and Axel hug in celebration but Olivia quickly feels awkward and leaves.

Olivia runs into Ziggy outside. Seeing that she’s upset, Ziggy assumes she didn’t get the contract and tries to reassure her. Olivia replies that she cheated on Hunter, explaining she was sad and had too much to drink. She denies still having feelings for Axel, despite their moment, and insists she can work with him. Ziggy thinks she should tell Hunter but Olivia says he’d either break up with her or make her quit. Axel calls her over. Ziggy tells her not to go but Olivia says he’s still her boss and goes over. Ziggy goes down the beach where she runs into Hunter, who says he’s tried calling Olivia. Ziggy says she got the contract but is still sorting out details. Hunter says he’ll organise celebratory drinks and tells her to invite Brody. Ziggy says he’s busy so Hunter tells her to invite whoever. He gets a text and tells her he’s had a payment plan agreed on an engagement ring.

Ash and Justin are having a drink together at Salt. Justin gives Tori’s perspective on Ash spending so much time with Kat. Ash says if Tori knew the whole story she could be in danger. The answer definitely doesn’t please Justin and he tells Ash to do the right thing by her. That evening, Ash meets Tori on the wharf but tells her he still can’t answer her question. However, he also can’t let Kat down. Tori remains unimpressed and eventually tells him they’re done. She heads home and tells Brody they’ve broken up. Brody notes at least she did it on her terms.

Olivia and Ziggy are sat in Salt with Ziggy rather uncomfortable about the situation. Hunter and Jarrod return with the drinks and Hunter makes a heartfelt toast to Olivia. Olivia feels emotional and says she needs a moment, heading out onto the balcony. Ziggy follows and says Olivia has to tell Hunter. Olivia insists she’s on top of it and Ziggy accuses her of putting her career before him. She tells her that Hunter’s going to propose and that Olivia made her part of it by confiding in her: If Olivia doesn’t tell Hunter the truth, she will.
