Extended Summary

Hunter and Olivia follow Axel, with Olivia protesting that she didn’t mean to cause trouble. Hunter says they don’t need Axel because they have the deal with Trend lined up but Axel replies that another part of the contract is that she can’t sell to anyone else for twelve months. Olivia tells Hunter to stop talking and leave it to her, following Axel on her own. She tells him she was flattered that Trend contacted her and Axel retorts that his friend there said she contacted them. Olivia starts to say that Hunter told her…then the penny drops for both of them. Back at the beach house, Ash rejoins Tori in the bedroom and makes it clear he’s lost any interest in surfing. Then they hear Hunter and Olivia coming home arguing and give up, getting dressed and slipping out. Olivia tells Hunter that she has nothing left: All her money and Irene’s has gone. Hunter protests that he just didn’t trust Axel but Olivia says he knew how much it meant to her and couldn’t stand to see her happy.

Ben is looking over the barely-started gazebo while Maggie and Ziggy wryly comment on the lack of progress. Ben points out it was meant to be a family project and asks Ziggy to help out but she says it’s her day off. She exchanges texts with Coco, who thinks they should get ready to call 000. (Maggie wonders why Coco doesn’t text her.) Ben wants to go and get Justin for help. Maggie says he’s away looking after Ava but she’ll go into town and ask Alf if he can recommend anyone. Instead, she heads to the Morgan house and asks Brody to fill in for Justin. Brody quickly realises it is another attempt to help him impress Ben and says that hasn’t worked so far. Maggie asks how far he’s willing to go for Ziggy.

Olivia goes to Axel’s motel room to try and sort things out but finds him packing to leave. He says that even though he knows Hunter set up the meeting, he’ll never convince his boss and she’s already pulled Olivia’s line from the website. Olivia says she’ll go but Axel hands her a glass of wine, asking her to stay and have a drink with him to say goodbye. As they settle down, Olivia notes it was like a dream. Axel thinks she can try again in a couple of years but Olivia thinks it was her one chance. Axel says she’s talented and he had a dream of the two of them going places together. He brushes her hand and says he’ll get her another drink.

Maggie arrives back at the farm with Brody, who has to admit he doesn’t have much knowledge of building work. Ziggy takes Maggie aside, not convinced that it’s going to increase Ben’s opinion of Brody. Ben directs Brody to drill holes in a piece of wood. Ziggy has to step in and tell him how to assemble the drill. When he starts, he notes the drill is going backwards. Later, Ben finds Maggie outside the house and asks if she’s trying to torture him. When Ziggy approaches, Ben says she should have helped him out instead. Maggie decides to go and get lunch and tells Ziggy to come with her. Brody appears having got the drill end stuck in the wood.

At the Diner, Alf and Marilyn discuss Roo, who’ll be home in a few days. Hunter comes in and asks if they’ve seen Olivia, admitting he’s upset her. Meanwhile, Maggie and Ziggy turn up at the surf club. Ziggy isn’t sure of the wisdom of getting Brody to help out when he’s no good at it. However, Maggie points out that Brody’s trying his best. She thinks that will impress Ben and that he just needs to get to know Brody.

Hunter has filled Alf and Marilyn in on what happened with Olivia. Alf says he’s been a galah and owes Olivia an apology, then leaves. Hunter notes Olivia’s probably devastated. In fact, she is drunk and laughing with Axel, who says he’s going to miss hanging out with her. Marilyn assures Hunter that Olivia might be able to fix it. Hunter says he should have trusted her about Axel and Marilyn thinks they’ll come out of it stronger than ever. As they talk, Olivia and Axel kiss and lie down on the bed.

Ben is telling Brody to mix the cement as Maggie and Ziggy arrive back at the farm, telling him to follow the recipe on the back. Brody lifts the bag up and spills the contents, prompting Ben to say that’s another thing he can’t do. Brody says he’s had enough and it’s clear he’ll never be good enough for Ben, storming off. Later, Ziggy tries to phone Brody without success and tells Ben that if he was trying to scare him off it looks like he’s succeeded. Maggie glares at Ben who says it’s not his fault Brody was useless.

Olivia and Axel are lying in bed. He asks if she’s okay and she says yes; he responds that he’s incredible. Olivia gets dressed, saying she’d better go. Axel says he might be able to talk his boss round and asks if that’s why Olivia did it; she says no. As she leaves the room, she looks unhappy. She heads home and walks in on Hunter leaving her a message; she tells him she went for a walk and had her phone switched off. Hunter shows her a letter he’s writing to the CEO of the Find explaining everything, assuring her he knows what it means to her. Olivia tells him she’ll sort it herself and goes to have a shower. Once in the bathroom, she starts crying.

Brody looks at his phone and sees he has three missed calls from Ziggy. Ben turns up with some beers and tells Brody it wasn’t really him he was angry with, it was the lack of support he was getting on the supposed family project. Brody reiterates he’s fed up of trying to impress him but Ben says Brody standing up to him reminded him of what he was like before the drugs. He says he wants Ziggy to be happy and that seems to involve Brody, asking what he wants to do with his life. Brody says he wants to cook his own food in his own kitchen again. Ben tells him he can’t use Ziggy as a crutch and needs to get his life sorted first. Ziggy is sitting outside the farmhouse when she gets a text from Brody saying he had an interesting visit from Ben. Then a motorbike pulls up and the rider takes his gloves and helmet off: it’s Jarrod.
